Ecclesiastes 5:18-20  Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his part. As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his portion and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.

We are all imperfect humans, with 24 hours a day. Most of us have a 9 to 5, which is not bad, but this is not life. Yes, this is what the bible terms toil.

  • work extremely hard or incessantly. Labor, exert oneself, slave (away), exhausting physical labor, grind, strive, work one’s fingers to the bone, put one’s nose to the grindstone;

But is this it? Is working a meaningless, insignificant job what life is about? Am I merely working to pay bills?

Actually it isn’t. There is a whole life out there waiting for us. We work for 8- 10 hours, we sleep for another 8 and we have 8 hours a day for our own personal use. 11223.jpg

Six years ago, God invited to this journey of a faith walk. And 6 years ago he brought my dreams back to life. Dreams are not in school, not for many of us anyhow, but school is most definitely a resource. It has been quite the journey, many mistakes and a lot of pressure in decision making, a lot of being still in preparation. A lot of headaches, and frustrations. But in the midst of all these afflictions and tribulations I grew into my SELF, and I continue to develop into the person God has called to carry out these dreams of purpose.

What is your dream? Your dream could be to heal broken souls, or to find the cure to disease, maybe your dream is to open a boutique and provide beautiful clothes for the poor and the wealthy alike, maybe your dream is to build a network of homeless shelters and food pantries, maybe your dream is to raise a family and build a legacy for them. I believe in dreams, but I also believe in WORK! I believe in acquiring knowledge and instruction, but success requires WORK! Its nice to have a dream, but your character and attitude needs WORK!

For quite some time now, I have been waiting, hoping, wishing and expecting a team to come to my aid. To help me build this empire, to help me rise above the ashes, to hold my hand when I am overwhelmed. But no one has come, it seems to me that many are asleep; or simply stated they are not for me. I write today to encourage you.

I want to remind YOU, that even if you feel alone or stuck with such greatness inside you, with nowhere to go and no idea where to start- keep it moving. As you dream, write and organize your ideas. Believe me God put these in your heart, because he knew you would be a good steward of his manifold grace. He knew you would give him a return on his investment.

God  wants to give you his plans, because they are perfect. God’s plans are uniquely designed for you, and you may have these plans in your heart but have you acknowledged God? Let’s work, let’s make money, but let’s put our best foot forward and not stay in monotony. Let’s rise above fear, norms and comfort- let’s bridge out into deep waters and let’s open our hearts to God. Purpose comes with servant hood, there is no work without service. There is no work without labor.

Let’s Pray:

Lord God I come before you in the name of Jesus, I praise you because your works are marvelous to my eyes. I acknowledge you and your presence, your steady love and mercy towards me. I know I am not perfect, and I know sometimes I lose focus and become distracted- but today I want to invite you into my heart and into my dreams. I want to know why you created me, and I ask that you show me where my skills and passions can be used for your glory. Help me to stay focused on you, and not in what I am lacking. Give me wisdom Lord, to move forward and bring these dreams to life. May these endeavors be my life’s work, and help me to not settle for a mediocre 9 to 5 lifestyle. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
