Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20

I received a fresh word today and it is too good to keep to my self. We all know the scriptures say that God is with us right, and He will never leave us nor forsake us. That’s good to know. We’ve also heard that where two agree on any thing and pray, it shall be done by the lord- I began to consider my own life and I remembered one of the females of the bible who is one of my favorites. Samuel, the prophet’s mother: Hannah.

Hannah was loved by her husband Elkanah, but she was barren, and he had another wife named Peninnah who bore him kids. In those times it was believed that barren women were cursed of God, and men were known to sleep with their female servants for the sake of their family name. Now, Hannah yearned for a child and Peninnah actually annoyed and taunted Hannah for her inability to bear children. And this caused Hannah much suffering. Every year Hannah and her husband, would go to the temple and give their offering to God.

On this particular year Hannah came before the Lord broken, as many of us are, and she pleaded to God. The man of God assuming in his flesh- lacking spiritual discernment, accused Hannah of being drunk! But Hannah replied “No, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.” (1 Samuel 1:15) And after understanding and sympathizing with Hannah, the man of God Eli, agreed with Hannah and said “May your petition be granted to you”. A year later Hannah gave birth to the boy Samuel, who became one of the greatest prophets of Israel.

Hannah had made an agreement with God, and Eli made an agreement with Hannah.

If your pastors and leaders are praying for something, pray in agreement with their prayers. And look for believers to pray in unison with you. There is power in prayer.

Today I pray in agreement with you! Yes, I mean it!

Let it be Lord, in the name of Jesus AMEN!
