For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:17

It’s funny how God has been up to a million things, and because we expect God to do some thing, in some way we miss Him altogether.

How can this even happen? It is not to say that God’s work is made null, or to no effect but we are oblivious to anything that God has done or is presently doing because we are out of focus. Out of focus does not mean we are deliberately sinning, but it does mean we are being negligent and irresponsible.

Our responsibility as Christians is to be holy: to be separated for God’s use. We are responsible to worship God with our lifestyles, and to live in thanksgiving. Proclaiming to be a christian requires humility, sacrifice and responsibility. We are called to respond to God’s love.

Although many people wait for God to call them, or convert them- when we welcome, invite, accept, allow, receive Jesus into our hearts we are responding to God’s love. We have decided to respond to His love. The rest of it, is based on decisions we make to be converted.

God does not convert us, we are converted by the holy spirit’s divine work in us and our yield to His spirit. We are converted when we seek repentance. When Peter denied Jesus 3 times, God already knew he would fail him before hand. And God knew that he would be converted, and then he would be able to be a true efficient disciple in Christ to spread the gospel.

When we become so consumed in our daily life, and our mistakes, and shortcomings, and our desires- we certainly miss out on the work God is up to. We do not praise Him, even if we worship Him. We are not grateful, because we are indifferent or focused on our “lack”.

Today, God reminded me that he gave me this scripture a few months ago. And I cried when I received it but I lost my focus, and never did fully see the big picture. I was so focused on my own needs of my privacy, emotional and physical healing, my intimate partner, my business partners, starting my business and other financial needs that I have. While God has been setting up the stage for me to raise up my dreams of dance, drama and song, and youth empowerment by serving him in ministry first.

Let’s pray:

Father God, forgive us for being so absentminded and losing focus. Help us to stay focused on you and your guidance, may we be filled with wisdom and understanding to see what you want our next step to be. Help us to resist negativity, and to quiet our soul when times get hard. May your love help us decide throughout life, in Jesus name, Amen.
