We know that we have passed over out of death into Life by the fact that we love the brethren (our fellow Christians). He who does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in [spiritual] death. 1 John 3:14
This is my new years resolution. As far as Church goes.
For many of us coming into the Christian world is brand new. Our biological family is no longer our only family, we immediately become family with strangers. This is not always an easy pill to to swallow. Just like our natural family we have our differences, and we have our moments of disagreements but nonetheless God commands us to love each other ad take care of each other.
God says a numerous amount of times that we need to love others as we love ourselves. What if you do not love yourself. This makes it hard to receive God’s love, this makes it difficult for you to love others as well. This makes you clueless on how to love others. God should be the standard, we treat others how God treats us. We comfort others in the way that God has comforted us.
I oftentimes encourage others in the same way God’s word has encouraged me.
I have learned throughout my Christian walk, that love is not only protective but love is supportive. We want to help others and share with others, but very rarely do others know the burdens that weigh us down. This makes us heavy-hearted and lonesome. This is a device of Satan which keeps us isolated so that nobody can help the other.
Have you ever carried something that was very heavy? Even the strongest of the strong, become exhausted eventually.
It is not easy to run with loads of things on us- not thoughts, emotions, regrets, problems, past issues, habits, desires. And even though God says that He will walk with us and share the burdens with us, sometimes being like Jesus is another burden. The burden of God is souls and love. It sounds amazing and simple, but like all things in life it requires commitment and work. There is a selflessness in Jesus that He has to develop in us, and we must discipline ourselves to exercise.
The truth is, that Jesus does carry our burdens and we feel the weights come off- but sometimes life begins to contend for our souls again. And this is when we need each other as a body in Christ, as a family in Christ.
Lord Jesus , thank you for the church family. Help us all to genuine love each other, help us to see each other as you see us. help us to carry each others burdens, to forgive each other easily and to live a generous selfless life. I present to you all the brethren around the world, and their churches- may they be built up in the holy ghost and strengthened in the inner by the power of your love and glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
