Devotional 2/10

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

A new chance.

A few weeks ago, during prayer service God ministered this to me. We have a new chance today, to love and to build a better life. To reach new heights and set our eyes on new ambitions.

Be encouraged, your life is coming together, even if you don’t know where all the pieces are. It’s funny because people ask you ‘how are you?’, and you say “Fine”; but deep down you know you are far from ‘fine’. You smile and go on about your life. Some days are good while other days you just want to quit. The difference in these two is crucial, the difference is that quitting is forever, but pain is temporary.

I have learned that the carnal mind is set up for survival, and it is set up to survive with animal instincts, not through the spiritual resources God has given us. There are two types of people in life: People who get what they want from life and those who don’t. The key lies in being in spiritual harmony with God, and not relying on our own human understanding.

Pain, frustration, depression is just a process of making you stronger.

Even though we are inclined to worship a higher being, ourselves and things, we do not actually seek to be spiritual. We are inclined to be natural, and to be involved with what seems natural like eating, drinking, having sex, and/or experiencing (and even indulging in) emotions and pleasures. These are natural things, instinctive, innate characteristics of our being.

I’ve observed that the spirit of the flesh is set on survival: this is the human spirit. While the soul is set on comforting itself and the spirit of man seeks to worship. The spirit of man, is the one which God unites with.

The natural mind is constantly on the move, coming up with opinions and ideas, and the soul is driven by “I feel”. While the spirit is seeking higher purpose, and meaning.

Even though we are battered and bruised, we are not destroyed. We are pressed down on every side but we cannot accept hopelessness.

The person absent from God’s spirit is ignorant of God’s love and wisdom. Especially because their spirit is disconnected from God, limited to a spirit of flesh and a soul open to the influence of the world and spirits of darkness. Therefore depression is a ready master, frustration a steady road and hopelessness a silent killer. But God is a ready help in time of need: He comes through whether we seek Him or not, although he would rather we draw near to him in acknowledgment and humility. Because in this way He can manifest in our lives in a powerful and loving way. And so that we may give him and bring him the glory. When we have God and acknowledge Him constantly even if we get sad and feel all types of emotions, we have hope. The hope we have is that God is with us and can change any situation at any given moment. God can make moves in one second, that we could spend a lifetime working on. So whenever hopelessness knocks at your door, remind the devil that God is with you, and that He will never leave you or forget you.

Let’s pray:

Lord God, thank you for your word and your scriptures. I present to you all people around the globe, may you touch their hearts and open their eyes to see that more are with them, than against them. I pray you hold their hands when they feel alone, and give them courage when they are afraid, and hug them back to healing Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
