The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you. 2 Corinthians 13:14
I have learned, that fellowship can mean caring for others like we care for family members.
The word fellowship is another word for “partnership”, a sharing of common interests. It describes how we are and can be related to one other. God longs for us to be in partnership with Him, His Holy Spirit, and with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are partners in church, which is the kingdom of God on earth and in the calling, where we are supposed to work together in purpose. Companionship means fellowship.
- Having or sharing with others things in common like interest, goals, feelings, activities, labor, privilege and responsibility, experiences, and concerns.
The essence of fellowship “to share together, take part together” and “to share with” . So technically, we are giving and sharing with each other, and this is true relationship. This is what God expects from us, in our relationship. Companionship is also the interchange or communication: communion or prayer. As I explained to our youth, if your friend or significant other stops talking to you- is there a relationship going on/ It takes two to make a relationship, both do and both receive. Communication is the sharing of concepts, feelings, ideas, information, needs, etc. through words or other symbols like body language and actions so that all members of the relationship hold these things in common. This is the way we should be with God’s holy spirit, this is how God designed holy spirit. Jesus said if I don’t leave, holy spirit cannot come. And holy spirit had to come to help us, because without God we could not make it.
It is important to learn doctrine. It is important to know what your church is grounded on, because you are a branch and if they cannot feed your anointing for growth, then God will demand for you to be in prayer more than the rest. God bless you.
Father God, make your presence indisputably known in our lives and help us to see your presence and recognize your voice clearly. I know you are not to be taught, but I do pray each and every one of us would be able too fellowship with you as lovers do.We want to honor you, lord, but please bring your guidance, and interrupt us when we are about to make a wrong turn (I give you permission Lord). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
