Devotional 3/19

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Joshua 1:8

The gospel of Jesus Christ is in fact a prosperity gospel.

See the bible says that God sent His one and only Son, as a ransom from sin and it’s judgement. Jesus came to give us life, and life in abundance. Jesus never said follow me and I will make you rich, as “the prosperity gospel” teaches it’s believers. Jeuss said: “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”.

  • Follow me (seek me, stay close to me, learn from me)
  • I will make you (I will teach and show you, who I want you to be)
  • Fishers of men (You know how to work in a secular fashion, let me teach you how to work for the kingdom of God)

God did intend to free us from sin’s enslavement, which is freedom.

  • the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint: absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government. independence, self-government, self-determination
  • the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved: liberty, liberation, release, deliverance, delivery, discharge;

God desires for our lives to be healed from the fall of man in the garden, so He received lashes and bruises, and his side was pierced to bring us healing. This is also prosperity. God is Holy, so God says change your ways and turn to me. I am coming back, remain blameless.

God promises us success. But who has believed the Lord’s report?

We were destined for great things, AS THE MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER THAT I AM… THERE IS GREATNESS INSIDE OF US! I hope I can help you recognize that success is not based on money, or on owning the material things of this world- although it can include these as well.

Many people carry a sickening burden of money. And many only seek God for His hand not His face. Money is good, Ecclesiastes says it does resolve much but the love of money is the root of all evil. God says one thing, and the world says another. Who do we believe?  Something I have learned, and believe  that if we do not fulfill the purpose for God creating us- then we have completely wasted our lives. Not everyone thinks like me, and many do not even know this yet. But this is the truth. When God created us He had established certain intentions for us.Sometimes we look around and see people who have gotten stuck somewhere along the way, either by their emotions, lack of ambition, lack of self control or by complacency- some even failed to get to know themselves. And now that they have become old, they live with some regret and bitterness, and while many have learned to make the best of a bad situation- they still missed out on God’s call for their life. God puts these dreams in our hearts, and He expects us to move according to his word. His word says that we should move by faith, not by sight. We also ought to move in love, because God’s perfect love towards us expounds fear. And finally, we should make moves towards our dreams because this brings glory to God.

let’s pray:

Lord God Almighty, you are the one worthy of praise and honor and I thank you the dreams  you have for our lives. I pray for new revelation for each person who is beginning to feel a tug on their heart. For those of us who know what we are called to do, but seem to be at a stand still- lacking resources like people, money or time. May your grace enable us to receive and execute ideas, and may your holy spirit draw these resources to us. May those we meet be people we can be in a one mind with. In Jesus name, Amen.
