Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:4
Was Rahab the harlot, the only one offered salvation in Jericho?
God is God, and I am not.
It’s a pretty serious thing, to ask God why He saves some and leaves others for the evil day. God is God and if you are ever really in your flesh and emotions, you will treat God like a chump. And by mercy, God does not strike lightning over your head and kill you.
He actually cares when we humble ourselves before Him, but why does salvation come to some and seemingly miss others? Why is salvation a choice before it is an opportunity?
The truth, and comfort in all this, is that God counts us worthy of His calling, and we should do our best to reach all souls and not some.
Why is it us who God brought into His light and purpose, at such a time as this?
There are no answers to these questions, God simply has mercy on who he pleases.
We have been saved by grace, not because of any good thing or bad thing we did. Not because we are most likely the worst or best of sinners, or the one to be grateful, the one to be a great winner of souls, no. Not at all, God just chose to reveal Himself to us. It’s up to us to respond.
