Devotional 4/24

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19

It’s not the load that breaks you down.
It’s the way you carry it.
C.S. Lewis

I am going to address go with the flow with the underlining statement, Trust God. I could not find any scripture about God expecting us to go with the flow. He wants us to stand out actually, from the world’s traditional flow. But He wants us to guard our hearts so that we could be able to direct our own lives, and not have our hearts take us into wickedness and trouble. The currents of the world, are always coming against us, resting at our shores. And the struggle to resist, as I mentioned in previous blogs, is exhausting!!!!!

Because of this exhaustion, sometimes head bowed and gasping for air, the spirits of the wind become our coaching system. Sometimes these spirits speak through peers, employers, friends, and neighbors who want us to follow their flow, since their way seems right. Due to the exhaustion, discouragement and disappointment this may even seem appropriate, for a season. But surely if you are son or daughter of God, you will come back to your senses, like the prodigal son.

Accept what is, let go of what was,
have faith in what will be.

Our reactions to circumstances, reveal how we view God. If we worry, or have anxiety and stress we have failed to realize that God is sovereign and in control of everything.

Go with the flow

Leave it to the breeze

Let go and let God

I have decided that if we are going to make it at all, we need to stop questioning God. It’s like being with a man who comes home late, or a child who refuses to fall asleep in class- we need to respond better to life. Our grievances, bad attitude and temper does not cause change. Complaining about something does not change it. Asking questions with no answers will only cause annoyance, and mistrust not trust, belief and faith. So how about we put aside all wrath and bitterness, and respond to God’s sovereignty. Make a decision to believe. Make a decision to act like we believe God is a good God.

Let’s pray:

Father God, I pray for my friends and loved ones who are battling with accepting your will. Maybe, it doesn’t seem perfect, it does not add up, maybe it seems boring or unbelonging; And some have hardened their heart and can no longer see or hear you clearly. Others have been contaminated by sin, and holiness does not seem attractive anymore. Or others, who are tired of bumping into the same strongholds (walls), and have quietly given up. We need miracles God, in order to fully trust you. You are God of the seen and unseen, and I know your awesome power first hand. May your power break through the barriers in our hearts, may  your consuming fire wash us clean, and may your love make our crooked parts straight. In Jesus name, Amen.
