Devotional 5/29

And more of the like, those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Reading this commentary on the works of the flesh, they categorized it into four groups:

(1) sins of sensuality;
(2) sins of superstition;
(3) sins of temper;
(4) excesses;

1. Sins of sensuality: adultery, fornication, uncleanness (sexual immoral), lascivia

2. Sins of superstition: idolatry, sorcery, witchcraft

3. Sins of temper: hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, envying, selfish ambitions, murders

4. Excesses: dissensions, heresies, drunkenness, revelries

Sometimes people think they are exempt from having to deal with their flesh. The flesh is usually alive and well. Having a ball, waiting for the perfect moment to let loose.

An offended person may not battle with 1, 2 or 4, but may battle with holding grudges or having anger (3).

Somebody with a drinking and partying fleshly habit (4) and may think they aren’t as bad as the others. Which is not true. Because they are all to be put to death in God’s eyes.

Then maybe someone will be like nah I don’t have any of these but you listen for the horoscope or read your astrology chart. Yes boo boo you are right there in the superstition category.

Then someone else will be like nah I don’t have sex outside of marriage or I’m faithful to my wife, but u have thoughts in your mind which you don’t take control over, until you play out a real life movie of pornography in your mind.

I pray the whole world would begin to be more honest and and sincere about their fleshly ways. Because remember people we are bound inside this body til death do us apart.image
