I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Psalm 2: 7
If it were possible for me to alter God’s plan,
I would only spoil it.
It’s pretty cool to know that God has promises for us, and the truth some of them are conditional. God blesses whomever He wants, and has mercy on whoever He wants as wee: remember He has his purposes. But it is a must to take note of God’s conditional terms when speaking His word over our lives, decreeing and declaring. Remember God’s word is established, it is prophetic, faithful and unmistakable.
- Decree: order, command, rule, dictate, pronounce, proclaim, ordain;
- God’s decreed will: events that God pre-set to happen before time began.
For example in Psalm 2: 7 the bible says ‘I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.’. This scripture was referring to a set time for Jesus, when God would acknowledge Jesus. God’s decreed will is the bible. There is nothing God keeps from us, except things our finite minds cannot understand. This is not because He doesn’t make the knowledge known to us, but we cannot fully grasp it and therefore it remains in mystery. God knows the end from the beginning, He knows if we will win or lose, when we will die and the number of hairs on our heads. God predestined us according to Romans 8:28-29, and also works all things for our good. God already set up the path in which we are called to walk on, according to Ephesians 2:10. Let’s take these 2 scriptures for example and see if there are conditions to his decrees.
Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
- Notice the conditions: who love him and are called to His purpose.
Ephesians 2: 10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
- Notice the conditions: We must be God’s workmanship, we ought to let him mold and transform us, otherwise we will not discern God’s will.
The truth is that God knows the future, and He gives us options. He gives us hints of His perfect will, and His word is our guide into getting to His perfect will in our lives. Yes, God has a perfect will for your life. We affect God’s plan by resisting His will, rejecting, and moving without His counsel. God has your spouse, your home, your ministry, your home church, your future children and your finances in His perfect will.
Lord God, thank you for this word. Thank you for being our help in time of need, and reminding us of the correct things in this walk. Thank you for reminding us that you are sovereign and have our lives in the palm of your hands. We give you glory for being a just God, even if life is not fair. I present to you all anxious minds and all people who are battling in believing that you are for us and not against. In Jesus name, Amen.
