Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. Psalm 59:1

We look upon the enemy of our souls as a conquered foe, so he is, but only to God, not to us.

Oswald Chambers

We all have enemies, but before you say yes! I do, let me clarify that I’m not talking about human enemies! God has a perfect plan for our lives, but we have three enemies: Satan, flesh and the world. We don’t fight against flesh and blood, so we must know that our enemies are sent from Satan on assignment. Satan knows what triggers a response from us individually, so he sends specific spirits to wrestle with us.

Satan is wise, and he does not operate the same with everyone; he’s studied humanity for ages. For example, the spirit of depression was a part of my life for nearly 2 decades, it knows me well. It comes during my weak days to make me lonely, frustrated or to wear me out. I notice that if I resist it’s attacks, Satan does flee! I also praise God, and use the word of God, to meditate on His calling and purpose on my life. When we purposely make a habit to think on His will, His faithfulness, mercy, grace and love, we rebuke the spirits of heaviness from off of our lives. Image result for enemies of our growth

Another enemy that attacks me, is fear of uncertainty. Fear is very broad, but God did not give us a spirit of fear: He gave us a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind! This spirit is on assignment from the pits of hell, to restrict  my complete surrender to God. Surrender is to give God 100 % of control of our lives  to God, which would then mean we are 100% obedient. If and when God has our complete surrender, He is able to do above and beyond that which we can ever think or imagine. The bible says NO EAR HAS HEARD, NOS HAS ANY EYE SEEN, THE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM: so the enemy of your soul will do whatever it takes to keep you from seeing God’s FULL glory in your life. I come against these attacks by declaring and meditating on God’s word on sovereignty and His mighty love and care for me: knowing God is my creator, my father and my friend send those demons out of my parameters.

And my other enemy, is my own personal bad habits, which I adopted in my flesh from the worlds customs. These are bad seed which Satan planted in my mind & heart when I was a child. The bible calls it strongholds, while psychology calls it paradigms. Some examples are world music, drinking, smoking, masturbation, sexing, pornography, fighting, gossiping, etc. The enemy fights us with certain things like these, because we are human! We can’t get away from our human nature, we will always battle our fleshly nature and desires but we can exercise self control.

When these actions come from a place of wrong thinking, they come from spiritual influence (attacks aka demons on assignment). For example, thoughts like “God is holding out on you” or “God forgot about you”, come from a spirit of abandonment. Or if you think “I’m bored”, “I need to relieve stress”, are signs that you are being attacked by an anxiety spirit which causes discontent and restlessness. There are many spiritual enemies, too many to list. Here are some:

Envy (insecurity, comparison), murder (anger), bitterness (murmuring, gossip, slander), unbelief (doubt, mocking), depression (stagnation), depression (discouragement), pride (arrogance, superiority complex or inferiority complex), anxiety (indecision, confusion, discontentment, frustration), lascivia (sexual immorality, perversion, homosexuality), love of money (idolatry, apostasy, antichrist) and so many more!!!!!!! But today I just want to encourage you to fight back, by using spiritual weapons like praise, prayer to God and reading His word.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus deliver us from evil! Teach our hands to war, and wake us from our slumber and any neglect! I rebuke and destroy all satanic assignments sent against our lives by the blood of Jesus. I take authority over the powers of the airs, and command angels to fight on our behalf, and may our surroundings become inundated with God’s glory through our praise. In Jesus name, Amen!
