Devotional 12/26

Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. Ecclesiastes 11:9

You are more than…

your past..

your financial situation..

your job..

your personality..

your triumphs..

your failures..

You are a child of God.

We cannot fool God. God knows and sees everything, the good and the bad, and the in between. Whatever we plant, we will harvest. I always speak about this: you plant apples, you will get apples. If you plant apple seeds, you cannot expect strawberry and grapes! If you plant selfishness, and ignore the needs of others; sadly, I will tell you that you will not have much love around you. The moment we choose to honor God, He honors us. If you choose to ignore God, you will live a life where God seems to be ignoring you. All that God desires is that we respond to Him, and acknowledge Him: and He will do the growth work in us, transforming us from glory to glory. What glory are you living in? Did you know that there is another level of glory for you?Related image

I believe that if you want to go upward into greater glory, you should be faithful in the place where you are now. God works into every detail of our lives, spiritual and also physical. Remember God will judge us for how we live and function in our roles of responsibility. For years I shared an apartment with my mother. I slept in the living room for some time, then on a couch, then finally we shared a bedroom. In the next realm of glory, God moved me into a small and cozy apartment. Now I live in a spacious apartment.

  • You have a good job, God is preparing you for a better job.
  • You have a boyfriend, God is getting you ready to be a wife.
  • You’ve spent years learning a set of skills, get ready to birth that vision.

God takes us from glory to glory, meaning He takes us from change to change, from level to level, and from promotion to promotion. God loves change; He loves to see elevate, progress and grow. Holy Spirit is the God of transformation, of our minds, our hearts and even our outward appearance. Am I good to my family? Am I on time and diligent at work? Am I praying, and seeking God? Am I spending my time wisely? Am I offering respect and love to others? Do I dress provocatively? Do not waste your time living a reckless live your life on purpose! You have the ability to choose what kind of life you will follow. You have to answer for the kind of way that is, and the kind of heart out of which it has come. God wants us to be glad, and to feel awesome; because one day we will be old, and struggle with decreased stamina, agility and libido. God knows that our youth is not going to last forever, at least not in this body and He tells us: Enjoy Your Youth! Enjoy life! Laugh, teach, engage, build, give, travel, buy, invest. This is your life, nobody else’s!

If you get in the habit of looking at life as a whole, considering your actions and consequences; you will be less likely to experience unfortunate events. A lot of life, stems from our own POOR DECISION MAKING! It’s pretty obvious what will brings judgement: reckless eating, idle words, lying, stealing and the rest of the sins. But what about other things, like using your gifts and talents? What about your character, are you a selfish person or a selfless one? Did you make good use of your influence? What is your reputation like? God will hold us accountable for how we managed the life He lend us. Our families, friends, careers, ministries and talents are all borrowed. Even our time is borrowed! What will you say when God asks you, “WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE LIFE THAT I GAVE YOU?”.

Yesterday is the parent of today,
and today is the parent of all the tomorrows.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for giving us the understanding to live a life of freedom and joy. Thank you for fellowships, family and friends. I pray for wisdom, discernment and further understanding in matters of choice. May we be able to discern when choices are in our will, and when to surrender to your will. I pray for mercy for those who have been reckless, and I even ask you forgive us for acting inadequately. I pray you forgive us for influencing others negatively, and I pray you guard our testimonies, our reputation and our relationship with you. In Jesus name, Amen.
