I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Philippians 4:13
I fill you with power. I strengthen you:
I make you strong.
This year appears to have started on the wrong foot, as if we are pushing against obstacles and barricades. 2018 is our year, the year of Christians. And the devil is trying to knock us out of the race, so he is pushing hard- as I said to knock us out of the race. And today is the last day of January. A lot of people say God won’t give us something we can’t handle, but it is not true: He gives us more than we can handle, so that we may turn to Him for help. All that we know is that life is hard, and we must find a way to make it through. We do not know what we are pushing through, and even lose sight of why we are pushing losing the desire to fight at all. God always provides an escape when we face temptations. When we face things like lust, suicide, hate or exhaustion, the temptation to give up is real.
It is normal to find that we cannot see ourselves how God sees us, and we can barely see what He is up to. God is the God of suddenly: suddenly everything can change. God has divine timing, and He is worth the wait. Holding steady to God, is worth it. Even when we see that we lack in one area, we also see victory in other areas. Life with Jesus is a journey, just like a relationship with any loved one is. We never know what may happen, or know what exactly to expect from people unless they tell us of desires and plans they have for us to share. God is with us in the good and in the bad, and Holy Spirit is doing a mighty and powerful work in each of us. And He will continue to do so, until Christ returns or until we return to Him.
I wouldn’t want to be without Holy Spirit in my life. Because He is the power inside me, who teaches me to fight and helps me to live. He is the counselor which speaks wisdom to my heart, when my mind tells me crazy things that would break or sabotage me. Remember YOU are a warrior, WE are all warriors!! The Lord makes warriors out of us. Life can make us weary as it catches us off guard; I constantly find that many of us are exhausted. For some of us it can be hard to get out of bed, not because of laziness but because of lack of strength. Or we may feel sick, battling disease or illness. Or even people who are mentally drained who battle with depression, anxiety or discouragement. We are set apart from the world to learn God’s ways, and grow in His love. We see, and will see amazing things if we focus on him. If we lose our focus, then life will become more of a burden to carry than it is supposed to be. We can become so focused on what is going on around us that we neglect our faith. And these burdens that God never placed on us, will choke us to spiritual and physical death.
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the ability to work out and lift weights, but I also ask you for fresh revelation into our spirits to receive inner strength to be able to function well. I pray that the weariness does not cause us to neglect or fuss over our responsibilities and commitments. I ask you for grace and might, which I know come from your Holy Spirit to touch every part of our being physically, emotionally and spiritually. May our praise be greater, and our worship be deeper. May you strengthen us by the power of your might, in Jesus name. Amen.
