Devotional 2/15

And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account. Hebrews 4:13

The beautiful thing about God is that even though we cannot fully comprehend His love, His love fully comprehends us.
Morgan Harper- Nichols

God doesn’t see us, how we see ourselves. God does not call us according to our righteousness, our good morals or good behavior. What God does… is that He calls those He made plans with, before time began. I remember years ago, when I battled with sexually immoral sins, Holy Spirit would continuously tell me “I don’t care what you do”. And when I would pray for Him to remove these things from my life, I was given the words “God’s grace is sufficient for you”. God has spoken to me through strange things like having a vision of a text, even graffiti; through dreams, worldly music’s lyrics, and even through billboards. It is not that God contradicts Himself (HE is HOLY), but He knows how to speak to each of us so that we would understand.

It is not that God does not care about our behavior, He does- but He also knows our weaknesses and chooses to meet us where we are. God’s will is that we make it to His purpose. That is God’s ultimate desire for us, that we be saved until the death of our mortal bodies. Even if we do not complete His mission on this earth, God will cut our time short so that we may reach that salvation, the eternal life He pre-designed for us. The Lord created us and knows our strengths, weakness, pet peeves, drive and stimuli- therefore He also knows how to deal with them too. And it is why He speaks to each of us according to our caliber, according to our potential in ways that we would specifically understand.

Potential:

  • Having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future; prospectivefuture.
  • Latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness.
  • The quantity determining the energy of mass in a gravitational field or of charge in an electric field.

Even though it is frustrating to be tormented by certain things in our thought life or desires, it is so undeserving to have the love of God in our every day life. This is GRACE: God’s amazing grace that we do not deserve and will never deserve. Receiving Christ into our hearts, means we become His; we are forgiven, and IN His grace. His grace frees us and changes us. Grace gives us power to live as God desires. He teaches us life, and how to live with all of our challenges (weaknesses included). Grace is forgiveness and motivation to do better. Grace is power to endure trials and confront temptations. Grace is God’s hand picking us up, after every single fall so that we may not give up on the relationship.

The enemy is out to steal, to kill and destroy. As I always mention, he looks to steal our identify (testimony), kill our faith (by changing how we see Him) and destroy our relationship with God (disconnect us from Him). But God’s grace meets us, when the enemy comes against us. Our main enemy is Satan, and he uses the weaknesses and study of our entire life, against us, and he also uses the world to stimulate our senses and thought life. This is why most Christians rebuke every thing, and even pray over their things like cell phones, work desks, etc. It is not that we are fanatical, it is that the enemy is out to get us, because he does not want us to be an instrument in God’s hands.

Jesus came to destroy the enemy’s work: to set people free from illness, emotional suffering, mental attacks and other types of oppression. And we as his instruments are sent to do this work. Now if we try to hide our weaknesses and faults, we disconnect from our real selves and we lose touch with God. God sees us as a pre-designed version of ourselves, despite our shortcomings. God’s grace pours out His love for us and His acceptance of us, but grace also confronts, and gives us strategy to make it through. We don’t earn it, we cannot work for it; His grace covers us. We just need to be in a relationship with Him to receive His grace, otherwise we will mishandle His grace.

Let’s pray:

Father God, Lord Jesus, Mighty counselor I love you. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Your mercy which is reserve for whoever you choose, and your grace for those who maintain a relationship with you. I exalt you Almighty and Eternal God. I present myself and my loved ones, and those reading to you. May we reach your perfect will for our lives. Even if we have to crawl into it, may we not reject your call or stay in sin. I plead the blood of Jesus, and ask for your grace to pour over our lives. May your grace meet us in our weaknesses, in our rebellions and our wayward thoughts. May your grace motivate, and prepare us to stand before you one day. May your grace help us overcome, and push through each level, each disappointment and each attack designed to take us out of the connection we have in you. In the name which is above all names, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.   Image result for god transform according to his love
