For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
We all live in an endless series of little moments. Paul Tripp
In the midst of changes persisting with a humble heart and a willing attitude, tell God that we trust Him. Over the years I have observed that God interrupts us in order to protect his own work. He has invested in us, and like a potter handling clay, He doesn’t want to have to start over if the clay is taking the shape it is meant to take. If a wrong thought creeps into our hearts, may cost us a lot. To walk with Christ is our daily choice to deny the flesh and also to carry our cross, and to walk in God’s anointing costs a very high price of surrender. Humility, meekness and contentment are necessary in order for us to grow, advance and truly be free in Christ.
Free will can hinder us or weigh us down, if it messes up God’s plan. So He interrupts us with His high thoughts and ways. The Lord does this because sin, or in other words, wrong or reckless choices will cost us a high price too. An incorrect move, or one small thought can cause us to forfeit the price of progress we have paid along the way. God does not want us to be hindered, or to be spiritual dwarfs- so He moves in sovereign ways to re-align us back to the correct path.
God is in control of all the details of our life: If we truly believed that we would “go with the flow” of what God has ordained. Nothing is an interruption…at least to God who planned it. He is not caught off guard by anything. Life is filled with interruptions, inconveniences, frustrations, and unexpected events… all orchestrated by Almighty God. When things don’t go our way, or our plans fail, God simply says: I have a better plan. During hardships, betrayals and heartbreak, we must remember that the Lord is in control. It is up to us, to decide if we will trust God or if we will make our own decisions moving forward. His grace is enough for us to get us through life… meaning He is present, He is alive so we can manage through everything and any thing WITH Him. God’s power is not limited by the surprises we experience.
Father God, we need your assistance to manage and cope with the changes of life. None of this is a surprise to you, and because you are a God of order I pray you hive us peace throughout it all. When life surprises us, and we cannot understand, may we be enlightened by your love to be still and confident that you have all things under control. Help us to see, to know and to feel you present: you are an ever present help in time of need, meaning that you are always willing to come to our rescue. We ask for your grace and mercy to face each day afresh. And I pray for strength and guidance to move forward in our God ordained destiny. In Jesus name, Amen.
