Devotional 3/27

But me, I’m not giving up. I’m sticking around to see what God will do. I’m waiting for God to make things right. I’m counting on God to listen to me. Micah 7:7

Patience with family is love, patience with is others is respect. Patience with self is confidence, and patience with God is faith.

Lord Jesus, I come before you in humility and awe. You are God over all, you are the anointed one, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Today I present to you the hearts and minds, of all who have been waiting on you to act. I present to you each person who has waited patiently and who has been faithful through the wait. Those who have repented even if the wait made them desperate, fearful, indifferent or rebellious.

I pray for the lukewarm, may the zeal of the lord burn again. I pray for the sluggish, may their prayers be fervent again. I pray for the uninterested, may you entice their minds and spirit with your word. I pray lord for each person who is battling with bitterness, with anger, with rebellious desires and with cynical thoughts. I plead the blood of Jesus over our minds and over our souls. May you guard and protect our hearts from the attack of the enemy. May you revive our joy and give us a heart to understand you and your love for us. You work all things for good, and we thank you for it.

Lord Jesus, help us hold on to you even through the hard times. Help us believe in your good desires for our lives even when we don’t see you working in our lives, and even when you are working on one area and not another. May we grow in faith, hope and love. May we cultivate joy, and happiness as we grow deeper roots into you.

And may we be happy to hope on you, as king David wrote in many of the Psalms. May we run like horses, who do not look to the left nor to the right, may we keep our eyes on You the author and finisher of our faith. May we run a steadfast and persistent race towards the calling you have made over our lives.

And finally Jesus, may you address all contrary thoughts, beliefs and feelings in our souls. May you break the chains and destroy all the walls which imprison your people to slow them down, and prevent them from advancing and spiritually dry out.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
