Devotional 5/4

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. Psalm 34:4-5

Life is entrusted to man as a treasure which must not be squandered, as a talent which must be used well.

Father God, thank you. I worship you for who you are. Be exalted mighty and dreadful God! You are great in all the earth. There is none before you, and there will be none after you.

I come before you to implore of your mercy and grace. Your word says that you have predestined us to fulfill good works so that all may see your glory and give you praise. When we pray, Your word says that You will show us things we have never known: like the future, the present and the past with knowledge and understanding. Nobody knows the things you have planned for us, not on earth nor in heaven. Not even the greatest of prophets can declare certainties but by your Spirit, we only know in part and one day we will know all things in their fullness. I praise you because you are wonderful, and marvelous are your works.

Today I ask you for that abundant grace and those tender mercies, which cause us to endure on a daily basis. You are our strength, and our refuge. I thank you for that.

I thank you that you are not like man who use us, and throw us away as we do when we drink orange juice and throw away the carton. I thank you that we are too beautiful for this world, for our citizenship is in heaven and as much as we try or even desire to fit into this world- we will not.

May your grace which abounds in sin reach those who you have been calling, those who battle in their hearts with other religious doctrines, and those who have in one way or another departed from the path. May your mercy be extended to those of a rebellious heart, I know your word says that you look away from these- but I plead for your mercy towards us all. May you touch all situations, considering their hearts and their mental battles, as well as the experiences which have shaped them.

I know you are bigger than great, and I believe you to be a the Lord of hosts. I know that you are the head of all principalities and powers, and I know that nobody can’t overcome you. You are the light of this world, and none can stand before, darkness can not overcome you for darkness comprehends you not! I know you are God over all. And by your all powerful ways, I ask you to fight on our behalf.

You are bigger than any and all situations we face. So I ask for your hand to stretch out on our behalf. Your arm has not been cut. Raise a standard Lord God. The enemy has come in like a flood and you said in your word that you would raise a standard against him, you tell the enemy to back up, you limit the power of his attacks over us and the repercussions of his oppression against us.

May we stand firm, as we have already believed and put on our spiritual armor. Who else do we have in heaven, except you Lord. We will not fear, because David said you freed him from all of his fears. As powerful as fear is in all of our lives, may we overcome all tactics of the enemy camp. Your word says that your light shines on us, and our faces show that we are not shamed for believing in you, that we are not confounded. I rebuke confusion and hardness of heart in the invincible name of Jesus, Amen.
