Devotional 7/3

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19

Our faith, in the Son of God, releases power from heaven that ties up the evil we are facing.

Jesus told Peter, the disciple that He would give him the keys of heaven. Who was Peter anyhow? Peter was a chosen disciple, who received revelation that Jesus of Nazareth was the Son of God. To bind and to loose is one of our greatest weapons as believers of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that the word of God is powerful to cast down thoughts and imaginations, and the word is also a sword which discerns, corrects, disciplines and instructs. But the ability to loose and bind comes by revelation.

We may know the scriptures, church and prayer protocol and even know the doctrines of different denominations. But it was only after Jesus saw that Peter received revelation that He was the Messiah, the Son of God, that He released the knowledge that is now ours, as the church of Christ.

Jesus asked Peter: who do people say I am? And who do you say I am? It was Peter who recognized Jesus Christ as Lord. And in turn the Lord told him, you are Peter and on this revelation I will build my church. I will give my church the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Are you the Church? Who is Jesus Christ to you?

It is vital that we know who Jesus Christ is, not only to us, but who He is.

Jesus Christ is the Lord of lords. The Anointed one sent to destroy the works of the devil. The one of who took the keys of hell from Satan. He is the head of all power and principality. Jesus Christ is He who resurrected from the death, and shamed all the powers of darkness. He is the fullness of God manifested in the flesh, the Son of God, Emmanuel: God with us.

When we receive revelation of who Jesus is, then we receive access to power: keys. Spiritual entities and their agenda are bound in the spirit realm. In Matthew 12:29, Jesus taught us that we must first bind the strongman before we can enter his house. This means we tie up the enemy by the power of Jesus Christ, through our faith in the Son of God! After that, then we can loose God’s plans. Binding these forces means we prohibit their entrance or operation in a certain area or over a certain persons life. And when we loose, we do the opposite: we allow, and grant access to God’s spirit to work in a certain place or person.

Keep battling saints! Keep interceding for you and yours!

Let’s pray:

Father God, Almighty Lord, Most High God, Elohim, El Shaddai. Thank you for the honor and privilege to call you ABBA. To know you and be known by you, and thank you for your word Jesus. You said you give us power to walk over serpents and scorpions, and over all power of the enemy: and by this authority I plead the blood of Jesus against the devil and his minions. Those spirits that are trying to knock us down, choke us up, and even kill us physically or emotionally I bind them in the name of Jesus Christ. I loosen the peace of God, the fire of God which consumes all the unlawful, and I release the protection and escort of ministering angels to protect us all. I pray this prayer for those reading, and their families, myself and my loved ones and all those who we pray for on a daily basis which may not yet be servants of the Most High God. Lord I bind every spirit of sickness, be it physical or mental and loosen your healing power. Thank you lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
