Devotional 9/1

Suddenly, an angel from the Lord stood near Peter, and his cell was filled with light. The angel nudged Peter’s side, woke him up, and said, “Hurry! Get up!” At that moment the chains fell from Peter’s hands. Acts 12:7

When we receive the overwhelming, reckless and perfect love of God we have abundance of love to give! God is so faithful, He knows your heart even when you think you know what you want or need: He knows better, and does better even when it comes in the form of an earthquake. Remember God knows what is best for your life! The Bible says that God extends His mercy to who He desires, and as children of God we are first in line. How could a good father neglect to give His own children favor. Deliverance is ours in the name of Jesus!

There’s a Tye Tribbett song that says that He is the same God right now, as He was back then, if He did it before He will do it again! God says in that song that He will restore. We are all in need of healing, whether it is in the form of heartbreak, illness, lack, sleep deprivation, worry, doubt or any other thing. And even if we brought the situation into our own lives through recklessness, negligence, stubbornness or trusting our own hearts and rejecting wisdom: if we repent and ask God to do whatever He needs to do so that we could follow after righteousness… HE WILL DO IT.

His restoration includes:

  • Waking us up!
  • Giving us a new perspective to see clearly
  • Changing our desires for His desires
  • Filling us with willpower and might to do His will

Our God is making a way for us, in the wilderness for His own purpose and glory. Peter was in jail for preaching the gospel, and he was scheduled to be beheaded in the morning. And as he had already accepted what He believed to be the will of God, he was sound asleep. The church was praying for him to be set free, and God caused an earthquake in the prison! God opened Peter’s eyes to see an angel, who opened the iron gates and led him out. He was set free!

There are people praying for us and we will be set free. The angel told Peter MAKE HASTE! Like Peter, we need to make haste, and run out of anything (inside or out) that is holding us back from being completely free to live for God. When you feel shaking in your life, it is God’s doing! Hurry, when God starts deliverance in our lives!

Let’s pray:

Father God, you are awesome and amazing. Your mercy is everlasting. You are mighty to save, and you continue to save us on a daily basis! May we all have keen discernment and clarity to see your path towards freedom and salvation. I know you are, you will be, so you have also saved us, will save us and will continue to save us: THANK YOU! May Your desires become our desires as well. May Your plans look good and phenomenal to us. In Jesus name, Amen.
