Devotional 9/9

He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; He triumphed over them by Him. Colossians 2:15

The devil tried his best, but his best is not good enough.

Joel Osteen

Powers and principalities are simply Satan infrastructure working here on earth. God can be anywhere and everywhere at the same time, He knows all things and understands all things. He has dominion and sovereignty over everything and everyone, until by our own will we kick Him our. Satan on the other hand, needs demons on assignment and people who take on assignments for demonic agenda.

In the book of Daniel, we can understand that principalities have territorial control. And powers can be learned throughout the Bible, too many scriptures to mention (I’ll list some after prayer). Powers are those with demonic power (yes, Satan has power): warlocks, wizards, witches, demons of false religions, and demons of oppression and/or infirmity.

When Christ hung on the cross, He declared IT IS FINISHED. In Him we have been made right with God! We have been converted from darkness to light, we are now holy, and have gained direct access to God without need of sacrificial lambs and legal abidance. We have somehow become complete in him… in what sense tho?

In the sense that we have now become triumphant over sin, and it’s bondage. We may sin, but we cannot be bound by it- at least not for long. Satan attacks to destroy, and each of his attacks are premeditated assignments. He carefully plans which demons will go where, when and to who.

But God, who is greater, has told us that He is Jehovah Nissi.

The Almighty, who asks to call to Him, so He can save us.

The God tells us to be still, so that we may see His salvation.

The All powerful God, who took the power of death from Satan.

The God who does not allow His righteous ones to be ashamed of their faith.

The awesome God who raises a standard against the enemy when he comes in like a flood!

God said it from the beginning, from the woman would come one who would bruise the serpent’s head: Jesus Christ has bruised the serpents head. When Jesus resurrected, He made it known that the power of Satan could not defeat Him. We are heirs of Christ, and we have received His power to live a life of victory despite of Satan’s assignments. Call out to Jesus, there is nothing too hard for our God. NOTHING!

Let’s pray:

My father, my God, my great deliverer. There are no words to express the gratitude in my heart to tell you that I know my redeemer lives. You show us your faithfulness, even while we may be blinded by distractions, circumstances, emotions and even sin. I pray for conviction in our lives, to walk confidently. May we recognize that you are with us, for us, and will never leave us. Thank you for your Spirit. Thank you for your forgiveness. And thank you for all of your graces. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.
