Devotional 9/14

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13

Salvation is deliverance from danger or suffering. To save is to deliver or protect.

The bible says that if you confess with your mouth, that Jesus is the Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Many people say they have God in their heart, but we speak that which we believe. Romans 10:9 says that with our hearts we believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth we confess unto salvation.

When we are evangelizing, and encounter a person who claims to have God in their heart, we must simply tell them that the bible says that confession is necessary for salvation. That person would simply call to the name of Jesus.See the source image

We present the plan of salvation: Jesus died for our sins and rose back to life on the third day to give us eternal life. The act of salvation is then taking the person to their confession of faith by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, and declaring what they believe.

The prayer of salvation is ‘Lord Jesus I believe you died for my sins and resurrected to give me eternal life. I receive u and welcome you (or invite you) into my heart and life. Salvation is more than a prayer, but it is the initial step in walking into eternal life with God.

God does not make salvation difficult, He simply asks us to call out to His name in faith! God knows every inch of our hearts, every secret and every conviction, and will teach us the way of salvation. He has brought many to life, and some go back to their past- but God does not give up on them, He seals them for redemption. God says that whoever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved, even on their death bed. He knows when we call out believing, and He knows any and all the stumbles His children may encounter.

God is more than willing to bring us into full salvation, upon His return… and all by His grace.

Let’s pray:

Jehovah, Most High and Eternal Father we honor you Lord. You are awesome, You are All powerful, and you are the discerner of hearts. I pray for a heart transformation in the hearts who have resisted your deity. And for a fresh revelation of salvation to those who feel they have gone astray or are un-save-able. Team your ministers to welcome others into the gospel, and help us all to not overcomplicate the doctrine of salvation. I thank you for saving us by grace, for it is not about us at all. Thank you Lord, for fighting for us and opening our eyes to see you as Lord and Savior. In the matchless and incomparable of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
