Devotional 10/8

But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:6

God trusts you with His dreams.

If you could refer or recommend one of your friends or colleagues to a highly esteemed company, who would you recommend? It baffles me sometimes, that God trust us with His dreams. I am no where near perfect, and if you are honest… neither are you! But did you know that God placed you in your job, and gave you that pay increase… and gave you that child… and that car… because He trusts you?

God works in the secret place, He works with us in secret. Through the seasons, I have learned not to concern myself much with how people perceive me. The timing of God, proves people right or wrong about you. God is your vindicator, He knows your capacity and He qualifies you to be able to manage what He is getting ready to hand you.

The key to God is to please Him. It’s what David did, it’s what the prophets did, it’s what Jesus did: OBEDIENCE. The Lord knows that it is possible that we fall, fail or stumble: but He does not expect us to stay defeated. The best stories in the Bible are the very stories of failure and it’s consequences.

The people of Israel, Peter, David, Jonas and Moses… we can see God’s goodness even in our wayward lives. The Lord continues to be faithful, because He knows our hearts. Only God knows if we truly love and desire to please Him. Whenever I find myself in a rut, I call out to God to get me out, heal me and restore me. I ask God, the All powerful and All knowing, to do whatever He needs to do to set me on the right path. If I see any of my fellow brothers and sisters in a low place- I refuse to judge them for where they are. I judge them according to the word God declared over them.

The Lord will restore you according to the relationship you have with Him. God will raise you up in public, according to the work you put in during the night shift: the times nobody knew or thought you were working. When nobody was watching you, you were calling out to Jesus for help. You were eating His word and digesting His teaching. You were wondering how you would get back up, and how His word would ever come to pass. But God who knows all things, raised Jesus from the dead… He converted Peter up from an impulsive man to a great apostle… He took Jonas to the place where He was appointed to. Remember the secret things belong to the Lord.

Let’s pray:

Father God, we honor and thank you. I pray for those who have worked the night shift, and feel far away from their promised land. I pray for those who have lost their way, and even those who have lost hope in the wait. I ask you for strength, conviction and a new heart of repentance. And that all your promises would come back to life in their Spirit, continue to show us your faithfulness in Jesus name. Amen.
