Devotional 10/18

And I will compensate you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten; The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust- My great army which I sent among you. Joel 2:25

God’s grace is the grace of prayer.
Lailah Gifty Akita

Lord Jesus, you are my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; you are whom we seek, who hears us and who delivers us from all of our fears. We honor you, we glorify you, we thank you Almighty God. For your magnificent ways and your mercy towards us.

We call out to you and you deliver us from our distress. I thank you because you are an ever present help in time of need. I thank you because when we are not in our right state of mind, you continue to work on your perfect plans for us and deep rooted needs. I thank you that you bring healing and restoration into our lives. Thank you for your love Jesus.

You the God who delivers us, and we glorify you. I thank you that we can be transparent with you. I thank you that you bring people into our lives who are people of integrity, who can intercede for us and bring about healing from sin and setbacks. See the source image

You are so faithful Lord. We have seen your hand move in such grand ways, and in such tiny ways that mean the entire world for us. I am honored for the special attention you give me. You have died to make us free. And you help us, you fight for us to not become slaves to sin again. And I thank you for that.

Some people will not understand why you treat each of us individually, but I thank you for being the God who knows my heart. I thank you for being the God who rewards every effort, and every battle fought towards surrender. I thank you Jesus, because I have seen many fall my the wayside, and I honor you because you hear my prayers. You hear me when I tell you that I’m in the wrong but I don’t know how to fix it. You hear me when I ask you to direct me, because I can’t see clearly. You hear me when I ask you to search my heart. You hear me when I am disappointed with myself. You hear me when I ask you to change my heart because it is hardheaded and offended right now. You hear me when I forgive people who do not deserve forgiveness. You hear me when I cry in repentance. You hear me when guilt wants me to give up the fight. You hear when I cry out your name JESUS!

You see me Lord, when I’m crawling through the mud and can’t even breathe, but I force myself to call out to you. I’m so grateful God, that you hear my heart. I am so grateful that you never reject a contrite and humble spirit. Thank you being He who delivers and restores us according to our hearts. In Jesus name, Amen.
