They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. Psalms‬ ‭34:5‬ ‭

Many profess Christ, but do not possess Him. Many know the plan of salvation, but not the man Jesus Christ.

Steve Lawson

The word says that when we come to the Lord we will not be ashamed. This depends on our willingness to come to God for everything. When we make the Lord our refuge, we demonstrate to Him that we trust Him above all and through it all. We have many options in this world, we can rely on ourselves, in people and in false gods.

The word says that those who make the Lord their hope, will not stumble: will not faint but be strengthened: and will not be ashamed. If we learn to depend on God, we will win. The Most High Lord works in our favor, and He usually works in secret without seeking outside counsel. But as finite humans, we tend to rely on our senses and the counsel of others for direction, but God calls us to walk by faith.

Walking by sight leads us into the trap of becoming desperate, angry or confused. It is possible that when we see things with natural eyes, walking with God does not seem beneficial: it doesn’t make a difference. Speaking for all who have walked with the Lord, we need to make a decision when it comes to serving the Lord. There are things we will not understand, things we will never get answers to, and experience things which tempt our hearts to turn from God: it is all a matter of decision.

Let’s pray:

Most Holy and awesome Father, I come to you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray for an increase in faith and conviction in all of our lives. May we make decisions that align with your perfect will, and may we be uncomfortable in the face of sin. I pray for steadfast faith even when we do not have answers. May we look to you when we have questions, or lost: may we rest in you, when we are anxious: and may we hide in you when we are afraid. In Jesus name, Amen.
