Devotional 11/6

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

I’m letting go of the thoughts that do not make me strong!

As long as we tend to God’s business we are also developing godly character. Doing God’s will, means becoming like Jesus and doing as He leads us. We must work on becoming who God says we are, and this is a long term and life long process. We are saved, we are being saved and we will be saved. Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

There are beliefs which the enemy sowed in your soul when you were a child and have grown strong like a fortress. We are battling spirits and their planting, but God can uproot them! These are the arguments in your mind, mental strengths (strongholds).

If I can teach you anything, absolutely anything… it is to confront yourself and your deep deep heart issues because that’s where all of our beliefs are. And those beliefs are the ones that make us or destroy us. A lot of people battle with depression but it’s because they have issues from their childhood like their parents abused them or left them, etc. Others hate themselves, yet look beautiful and are loved by many- when when they don’t perceive it- so they drink do drugs or sex their life away to escape the feelings of self hate. And other people are resentful, and they can’t build healthy relationships always defensive, or untrusting, etc.

We all battle with different things. But before attacking the manifestation: depression, or the use of substance, etc … the root is in the event that marked the thought (the strength). The Lord wants to be our stronghold, and refuge and savior— from our violent oppressors!

If we call to the Lord, we are to be saved from our enemies. He is able to rescue us from our powerful enemies who are many times too strong for us. This is what His word says! And God upholds His word higher than He esteems His own name!!

Let’s pray:

Father God, eternal king, glorious father! We honor you and praise and we thank you in advance for fighting for us. We lift your name high, and we glorify you for who you are even when it feels that you have delayed our breakthroughs, healing or liberation. We know you are who you say you are, and we ask you to show yourself real in our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.
