And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:18-19

The truth is, if we don’t learn to submit to authority, we wont ever learn to submit to God.

Joyce Meyer

The Lord is able to prevent attacks from coming against us, but very often the attack comes right in the middle of God’s process. The Lord does not tempt us, but while He is testing us, Satan is also working. Satan only wants to stop God’s work here on earth, this is either by draining people’s energy,  corrupting  the truth of the gospel (and it’s doctrines), or contaminating by the hearts and minds of believers.

False doctrines, and heresy teachings corrupt the truth of the gospel. But in those churches where there is sound doctrine, Satan works diligently to contaminate people’s hearts and minds, causing them to murmur, gossip and divide within the church and believers. When we are God’s people, we must be careful to not test the Lord, with an arrogant attitude. See the source image

  • The Lord has put in place that we submit to one another in reverence to Christ.(Ephesians 5:21)
  • If we cannot submit to God, then we will not be able to resist the devil, and he will not flee from us! (James 4:7)
  • Every person is to be in subjection to governing authorities: since all authority was assigned by God. (Romans 13:1)
  • The younger of us, ought to submit to our elders (1 Peter 5: 5)
  • We are to honor our parents; despite of their character or our upbringing (Exodus 20:12)

The Israelites who were in the wilderness, began to murmur and grumble against leadership. And the Lord sent snakes to attack them. Jehovah is a God of order, and He rewards those who take heed to His commands.

It is true that many of us have our own relationship with God, and the Lord does speak to us on an individual level. But we must submit to the word of God. We may think that we are more than qualified to be held accountable by anyone, but if we profess to be Christian we must be humble. We must be careful to balance and manage our confidence, because pride comes before a fall.

Let’s pray:

Father God, everlasting father. Lord of lords and King of kings, we give you honor and glory. We present ourselves to you today. May you purify the minds of those who are going through submission challenges. May husbands and wives be able to submit to one another, teach us your ways Lord. I pray for church members to honor their pastors, and leaders. And I pray, Philippians 2:3, may each of us may esteem others as more important, than ourselves, in Jesus name. Amen.
