Devotional 12/2

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; Ephesians 4:23

You must learn a new way to think, before you can master a new way to be.

Marianne Williamson

In terms of transformation the main difference in the power of God, from the power of man, is that God can do in a moment what takes man years to accomplish. Everyone needs deliverance (liberation and healing) from all things. And with maintaining deliverance, we must also do our part in doing the work to renew our minds. For example I’m 32 years of age, I have 32 years of experiences and thoughts to heal and reprogram: the Lord has done His part and I continue doing mine. It is definitely a challenge, but it can be done.

Everyone has to do their own work! We can confess scriptures all day, and every day but we still have work to do. The people of this world do it too. Those who change their lives for the better (not for Christ or religion). They renew their spirit/minds every day by challenging their thoughts, habits and upbringing. They use affirmations, we use the word of God. They enter in trances and lucid meditations, but we enter God’s presence and the anointing of His Holy Spirit.

Satan doesn’t have to send destruction into our lives, he simply needs to influence us in ways where we self destruct. We are quick to blame Satan, but it is our flesh which needs to be put under control. It’s a process of self discipline, consistency (commitment) and persistence.

It is a detriment to ourselves, when oppressive and tormenting spirits are cast out from our lives, if we are going to be lazy and stay empty. The Lord Jesus said that demons these spirits leave for a season and return with more, to occupy the same house they were kicked out of. He said that if these spirits find the house empty, then they enter and take over: and the state of that individual is 7 times worse than before.

Remember we become that which we think about! Are you a man or woman of God, or is your identity in this world? Your responsibility is to work on yourself; so that your mind is renewed and your deliverance preserved.

Let’s pray:

Father God I ask that you forgive us of our sins and help us to have open hearts that convict us unto repentance. I pray that we can forgive ourselves and choose to work on rebuilding ourselves, as you renew our spirits by your love and power. Help us rebuild our spiritual disciplines so that we may be able to overpower our flesh, Satan and this world. In Jesus name, Amen.
