Devotional 3/8

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:2

Satan is watching you, but God covers you… the blood, the blood, the blood!

Theresa Moore Young

What do you do when you are already down and out, and life throws you a curveball?

I was going through one of the lowest and darkest seasons of my life, and a curveball almost knocked me out of the ballpark. I made a conscious choice to believe God was in control and had faith in me to come out victorious despite of what storms I went through. I pressed on with some hope and faithfulness, even though I was exhausted and miserable. I was able to see God’s favor even during the restoration process: I enjoyed a season of open heavens. For the glory of God, moved into a spacious 1BR, started this blog (2016), made a great brother in Christ, received numerous promotions at work, established a worship team (2017), filmed a movie and started working in the field of my choice (2018). God’s been faithful: we reap what we sow.

Demons are precise and they watch how we move. We get hit when we are not dressed in the armor of the Spirit (Eph. 6), but the Lord is our great deliverer. God is a present help in time of need.

Deliverer:

  • a person who rescues from harm or danger
  • rescuer, savior
  • benefactor, helper (especially with financial help)
  • When you come into a place, or into somebody’s life, everything you’ve been through comes too. What I went through is the fruit people see and enjoy today. The same is for you, depending on how you deal with each of your trials. How we handle the dark seasons of our lives, is what determines what comes out of it aka how and where we end up.
  • Our lord Jesus said that if we are faithful in little things, God will trust us with greater things (Luke 16:3). There is abundant grace for us… if we yield and ask for it. The Lord has us go through things so that we have a story to tell, an experience to have and an encounter to have. He is our deliverer. At our lowest points He is faithful to give us double for our trouble. And to take our sorrows and turn them into joy…. if we hold on.

You’re coming out of this! Whatever situation you are facing, God will use it for your good! You will have a testimony, you will recognize your faith and you will know God more than you did before!

    Let’s pray:

Father God, we give you glory and praise for being the Lord who protects and delivers us! We honor for being the God who created us and who equips us. There is none like you, we thank you for your perfect love and faithfulness. I plead the blood of Jesus over us, our families and congregations. You are greater than any power of darkness. And this is a conviction which gives us peace. Thank you for grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
