Devotional 5/15

Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15‬ ‭‬‬

If you keep your peace, you will pass the test and God will bring you out better than you were before.

Are you ready for God’s next? If God approves of you, then you are! Approval comes by way of testing! The lord does not tempt us, but He does try our faith.

Trial:

  • A test of the performance, qualities, or suitability of someone or something.
  • test (something, especially a new product) to assess its suitability or performance.
  • a formal examination of evidence before a judge, and typically before a jury, in order to decide guilt in a case of criminal or civil proceedings.

The word says we shouldn’t be surprised when we go through trials and tribulations: but rather rejoice because we will stand like gold tested by fire. Some of the situations we experience are uncomfortable, antagonizing or even unbearable. And at times we may confuse God’s tests for attacks of Satan! God test our hearts, and our faith by trials of fire.

I heard TD Jakes say once, “when you tell God you can’t take it: you’re telling him that you are not ready to go to another level”. I say, God forbid! God knows our caliber: He knows what He placed inside us of us, and needs to develop our skill sets. He knows our value and worth, but needs us to know it for ourselves! He knows our strengths and weaknesses, and must build our character! He knows every detail of our destinies, and needs our full surrender. What better way to know if gold is gold, than to test it by fire?

As long as you are approved by Hod, it doesn’t matter what people say of you. As long as God can trust you with His word, it doesn’t matter who acknowledges you. God says you are approved!

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for your Spirit and your Word. Thank you for your grace, favor and tender mercies. Thank you for trusting us with your word and your children. Help us be faithful laborers and willful and intentional God pleasers. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
