Devotional 6/14

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Proverbs‬ ‭4:18‬

Many of the good things would never have happened, if the bad things hadn’t happened first.

Suze Orman

One way or another, once a day or once a year: we will all experience struggle in this journey with God. It happens to the strongest of us.

The enemy, the thief who came to steal and destroy is after the souls. Satan will oppress us, until we throw in the towel. That means you and I are prime targets, especially as ministers of Christ. We may minister to others through song, intercession, evangelism, teaching or any other way. And Satan will do all he can to keep us from the service of the Lord (salvation of souls).

  • Condemnation: stagnating his guilt trips
  • Contamination: damaging our hearts and minds to the point of abandoning God and ministry
  • Destruction: invalidating our testimony (and reputation)
  • Stealing: making us insecure, doubtful and faithless (no faith)
  • Killing: making us hopeless and killing our selves literally, or sabotaging our opportunities again and again (despair)

God knows the battles we face and will be facing on a regular basis. Remember what Jesus told Peter; Luke 22 says, the enemy wants to sift you like wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail.

Some seasons are more challenging than others, but God has called us to be steadfast in faith. He is the Rock where we stand, even when the storms come and the winds blow… we will be standing firm!

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for being our Rock! Thank you for being the one who picks up our heads and the one who leads us along paths of righteousness. Again I pray you reveal to us, how profound your love is for us. May you give us keen discernment to know when Satan is using schemes and devices against us, and to know when it is you speaking. Thank you Lord, I’m Jesus name. Amen.
