Devotional 6/26

O Lord, I am indeed your servant. I am your servant, the son of your female servant. You have freed me from my chains. Psalm 116:16

Our spiritual enemy is dedicated to steal our blessings and prevent us from living an abundant life.

Is deliverance relevant to us today? The counsel of God is the Truth, and His Spirit leads us to all truth. Many people today are bound by demonic entities. They are  living in spiritual, mental and emotional prisons being tormented and oppressed by Satan. But the Good News is that God wants to deliver us. King David felt honored to be delivered from his chains, and he expresses it in Psalm 116: I now see that I am truly yours, because you have loosed my bonds.

A bond is a restraint. And we need to be released from them all!

Bonds:

  1. Restraints: a thing used to tie something or to fasten things together: chains, fetters, shackles, irons, ropes, cords, ties;
  2. Documentation:
    a. a certificate issued by a government or a public company promising to repay borrowed money at a fixed rate of interest at a specified time; bond, deed, surety, guarantee.
    b. an agreement: an agreement with legal force: pledge, an alliance, friendship, partnership attachment;
  3. Science: a strong force of attraction holding atoms together in a molecule or crystal, resulting from the sharing or transfer of electrons.
  4. Building: a pattern in which bricks are laid in order to ensure the strength of the resulting structure.

Deliverance can be a process, but God can also deliver us in an instant. I know many people who have been delivered from sickness, addictions and deep emotional turmoil in an instant: but I also know others who have battled with the same demons for various years.

Breaking spiritual bonds is necessary to achieve inner healing, and ability to live the abundant life that Christ died to give us. He died on the cross to make us free: free from sin, from addictions, lies, despair, insecurity, broken generations, witchcrafts… FREEDOM FROM EVERYTHING! The Truth will set us free: if the Son sets us free, then we would be free indeed (John 8:36-39). Head knowledge will not make us free, only faith can make us free.

Faith is the evidence of what is not yet seen (Heb. 11:1). Faith is like the vapor which mixes with clouds to make it rain: we cannot see the vapor, but we can see the rain. God desires us to be free, free from chains, bonds, attachments, shackles and any form of restraint in our lives. Do you believe God can break your chains of addiction? Of sickness? Of poverty? Of confusion? Do you believe God can heal your broken heart? Do you believe He has the power to restore your relationships? Do you have the faith to be free?

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for deliverance. Thank you for renewing our minds, uprooting and destroying strongholds. Thank you for breaking chains and making us free. Break generational curses and destroy yokes of wickedness in our families. I pray you increase our faith, and if there is any unbelief in our hearts, please reveal yourself in those areas. May we receive the deliverance and freedom we need in order to be made whole. In Jesus name, Amen!
