Devotional 7/25

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

Destiny plans a different route and fulfills the dream in ways we couldn’t have expected.

We won’t always be in control of how life plays out, but we have a faithful God who honors His word above His own name. A God who opens and closes door. A God who fights for us. A God who moves on our behalf for His own names sake.

It may seem like what we are going through, is all it would ever be. We may become so used to living in a certain way, with a certain burden, a certain feeling or circumstance- that we accept it as our end. We lose hope and faith: we don’t expect the future to be any different. Despite of how long we have been in the situation, God wants us to know He has an expected end.

Expected: regarded as likely; anticipated; awaited.

Regardless of what you’re looking at right now, remember it’s not what God intended for your life. The plans God has for us are good and prosperous, not to harm or destroy us. In Him the promises are yes and amen. If you’re in-debt, God says I will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. If you’re sick, God says by my stripes, you have been healed. If you are lost, God says I am your salvation. If you are in the pit or in the prison, God has a leadership position set in place for you. If you are tired, He says He will give you rest. If you are depressed and hopeless, He says He will exchange it for a garment of praise. If you are oppressed, God is your great deliverer He says He will fight for you: be still!

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus I come humbly before you to ask for hope to be reignited in your people. May faith and love rule our hearts as we move forward in our daily living. I ask you to shed your hope in situations which seem unchanging. May you be our stronghold at all times. Give us the will and pleasure to change what must be changed, and destroy what needs to be destroyed! In Jesus name, Amen.
