When God changes our plans

We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9

Gods plans will always be greater and more beautiful than all your disappointments.

It’s good to make plans, but it is better to seek God when making them. See, the Lord ordains our steps, and will mess up our plans in order to fulfill His will. This applies to those whose hearts are genuinely after the will of God.

The Bible says ears have not heard, neither have eyes seen, or mind conceived the things which God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Cor. 2:9). And in order for God to fulfill His plans for our lives, we need to surrender to our will in exchange for His. Sometimes in the natural, we resist the will of God or hold tightly to our plans. Yet even if we do, He will bring us to a place of vulnerability where He can minister directly to us. After all God knows the end of a thing, and when He causes things to fall out of place, it’s so that He can reorganize them according to His will.

The Lord has quite a way of correcting and aligning our lives to His will. He usually does so by confronting or destroying your plans, so trust God with all of your life. Even when your plans are frustrated, God is up to something. He knows our vulnerabilities, and how to use them for our advantage.

Let’s pray:

Lord God, you know what we are capable of. You know each trial and temptation we face, and today I pray that our faith may carry us through and not fail us. I pray we see your glory in the midst of change, and the disposition to move as you will. In Jesus name, Amen.
