But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?'” Romans 9:20
God uses men who are weak and feeble enough to lean on him.
The calling of the Lord is not reserved for the poor or uneducated, He also calls the professionals, the influential and the affluent. But one of the things about God’s qualification system, is that a Christian must depend on Him. He calls us to be surrendered.
The bible says that we have been planned and fashioned in the mind of God, before we were conceived (Psalm 139). So it is important to know that He knew us beforehand, and He created us with deficiencies, fears and weaknesses so that we have to depend on Him. Sometimes God doesn’t change our situations, or even heal us, because we have not surrendered our will to Him. Paul wasn’t healed of a certain condition, and the Lord told him that His grace was sufficient for him. We may be talented, gifted, knowledgeable, competent or even successful: but we cannot depend on ourselves. It is very important today, for us as Christians to remember that our strength, wisdom, ability, and power come from Christ: He’s made them available for us.
A Christian is not a label, or an identification marker; not even an entry ticket to heaven. As Christians, we are a version of Jesus Christ here on earth. Although it may be challenging at times, this is only possible if we are seeking God’s wisdom about what to do and how to do things.
Thank you Lord God for choosing us and making us a part of your people. I pray for love and wisdom to do you will Lord. May we help those who have been hurt my churches and church people, Christian friends or family members. I pray you help us all to be gentle with our words and attitudes. Help us to be more like you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
