Self-Esteem

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2:2

Self-esteem affects the way we treat ourselves and we have the power to change it

The #MeToo movement has brought up a great idea: we matter too. Every single one of us is important and worthy of love.

We can be so consumed in serving and loving others, that we forget to take care of ourselves. Self-care is extremely important given the pace of the generation we are living and our many responsibilities. People who have low self-esteem struggle with accepting and loving themselves, and therefore neglect caring for themselves. Low self-esteem is to have a low opinion about yourself.

We are imperfect beings and under construction, but self-love is the first step to overcome low self-esteem. We empower ourselves when we learn to embrace our struggles and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

Love and Forgive yourself.

Embrace and own your story.

You will esteem yourself highly, when you love yourself.

When you love yourself, then your life will thank you.

When we love others, we are sure to find things we do not like about them. We normally love our friends, lovers, parents and other loved ones for who they are: flaws and all. We love and accept them despite of their shortcomings, so why do we struggle with our own shortcomings?

Low self-esteem comes from a root of insecurity, a device of Satan to steal, kill and destroy. It steals potential, purposes and dreams. It destroys relationships (with God, self and others). And it kills levels of self-confidence, self-worth and self-respect. But thanks be to God who gives us His word to defend ourselves. Whenever you notice that you are being your own worst enemy and critic, fight back!

I may have shortcomings, but despite it all God loves me with an everlasting love!

I may not be perfect, but I am beautiful & there is no flaw in me!

I am worthy of love because Jesus came to give me a life of abundance!

Let’s pray:

Father God we thank you for your love, grace and mercy. For your healing and goodness. I pray for anyone who is struggling with self worth and self esteem issues, may you strengthen them and give them the grace to see and love themselves as you love them. Thank you for being the Most High God who knows and sees all things, and calling us into your marvelous light. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
