Prayer for the Holidays

May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:2

Jesus is the reason for the season!

Father God, you’re awesome and wonderful. Thank you for being the lord of Lords and the king of kings. You are just and righteous, you know all things from beginning to end and you know the steps we take.

I pray for everyone this holiday season. Your word says that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and you were the prime example we can follow. You gave your Son Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us. Thank you for reconciling is back to you. I pray for those who are struggling to make ends meet and also give to their loved ones to find rest in knowing that their love extends beyond the Christmas season. I pray for creativity and frugality in gift giving as well as boundaries.

I pray for those who are struggling with sadness, grief and loneliness to find reasons to be joyful and hopeful. May they be surprised in this season to make fruitful connections and enjoy quality time with the people they love. I pray for those who have lost a lost one, may they know that they will meet again and rejoice in the memories made. May you bring strength and healing during this time Holy Spirit.

Thank you for your mercies and for provision. We love you Lord.

In Jesus name, Amen.
