RIP Kobe Bryant

You don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Your life is like a fog. You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away. So you should say, “If the Lord wants, we will live and do this orthat.” James 4:14-15

I’ll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it’s sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot.

Kobe Bryant

Father God, I am so saddened by this reality of Kobe’s passing. We don’t know why you allow these type of things to happen, but my prayer is that You comfort those mourning the loss of a loved one. Give them peace and strength to move forward Jesus.

I lift the Bryant family and all the passengers’ families, and all the other families who have experienced loss in the past few days, it’s been heavy Lord. I ask you Jesus to strengthen those who are mourning and help them see how short life is and the blessing it is to be alive. May we love on the people we love and forgive those who hurt us, may we live lives that make a difference and draw closer to you every day. May this remind us that we are not guaranteed another day, the only thing that is certain is death.

I ask you to draw our hearts to you and that instead of questioning or being angry with you, we would come closer to you. I ask you Lord to work in the hearts of your creation and draw their consciences to you. May you convict them by your Holy Spirit and bring them to newness of life in you. Teach us to number our days Lord and to enjoy our lives here on earth, while securing our after life as well. Eternal life is in you Jesus.

If you openly declare that “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He took all of our sins on His body and nailed them to a cross. He said IT IS FINISHED. Jesus paid the price for us all. He took the punishment we would have received! We are all guilty of falling short on God: none of us is free of sin but we can be right with God, if we believe.

You can be saved, you can have eternal life!

Thank you Lord for taking our wrongs and nailing them on the cross. Thank you for Jesus who makes us right with you father God.

I invite you Jesus into my life and my heart. I ask you to guide me into all Truth. I accept you now Jesus, as my Lord and Savior. And ask you to write my name in the Book of Life and help me live a life of purpose. Help me to get right, and even if I mess up I know that your unconditional love will help and restore me. Thank you God.

In Jesus name, Amen.
