For those Who have Lost a Loved One

Father God, thank you for being the sovereign God who has the last word. Today I pray for those people who have lost loved ones during this time and those who have the virus now.

I pray that you comfort those who have lost a loved one. I ask you to help them with the grief process and that they may find strength in knowing that you are in control. The virus didn’t take their loved ones, but you have orchestrated it this way. Our times are i
n your hands and only you have the power to give and take life.

I pray that you surround those people who feel heavy burdened and in a fog. I pray you lift their burdens and help them trust that you see their pain and know the anguish of their pain. I pray they know today that you keep track of their tears and sorrow. King David said that you collect our tears in a bottle and record them in your book, may the experience your perfect love today Lord. I pray that you would surround them with people of empathy and sympathy, people of prudence filled encouraging hope and love.

I ask you Lord to visit them, even those who feel like you are to blame, like you are not good for taking their loved one. Your word says that you are near the brokenhearted and you mend their wounds. Help them to do life each day with renewed hope in their hearts. Although they may never forget their loved ones, I pray they can be healed from the pain and receive hope and courage from your Spirit for tomorrow.

May they be able to conceive and believe with their heart that their loved one is with you, and they will meet again.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Jesus wept.
