Prayer: receive what God has for you!

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9a

What you believe you want, may be different from what you deserve.

Thank you father God for today, for your presence in our lives and for your everlasting love. Today I pray according to Isaiah 61. I declare that the Spirit of Lord is upon each of us. We’ve been anointed to bring good news to the poor, to comfort the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to those who have been bond. We declare freedom, he who the Son sets free is free indeed! May we be solutions for people!

May we be the ones who to announce that the time has come for the Lord to show his kindness and His judgment against the wicked. May we be the ones who comfort those who are sad, and who are mourning. We receive your promise to take away the shame of our lives, and give us a crown instead of those ashes on our head. Thank you Jesus, for taking away our sadness, and giving us the oil of gladness! Thank you God!

Thank you for taking away our sorrow, and giving us new clothes to wear! Thank you for showing us favor, and crowning us with beauty! Thank you for giving us new songs, a new praise and taking away hopelessness. Thank you for raising us up as trees of righteousness, we are plantings of the Lord, so that You are glorified. And all the things which have been destroyed in our lives, you promise to rebuild. You promise to restore, thank you Lord in advance.

You said you will revive our lives and our homes, thank you Jesus. May doors be opened and hearts touch to serve us. May those that do not know us bless us, and show us favor! We are called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God! You said that we will feed on the wealth of the nations and boast in their riches, and instead of shame and dishonor, we reap a harvest of a double share of honor. May we possess a double portion of prosperity in our lands, and revel in your everlasting joy.

You said you will reward us for our suffering and you will be faithful to keep your covenant for us. May we be recognized and honored as blessed for being your people everywhere we go. Thank you Jesus for giving us salvation, for adorning us with the clothes of salvation and precious jewels.

Show your justice to the nations of the world God! May your faithful ones spring up like plants everywhere! In Jesus name, Amen.

Double for your trouble!

Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you. Zechariah 9:12

You need a calling that is worthy of your commitment. Nothing worse than being committed to something that’s less than you.
TD Jakes

In the book of Job, we first see the ‘double for your trouble’ theme. Job lost his family, his wealth and employees and his health. He argues with God, and with his friends, but he did not curse God; in return God restored him, double for all his troubles.

The context of Zechariah 9 is the prophetic declaration that the people of God would be restored double for their trouble too. They would saved by the coming of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He declared unto them that their enemies would be destroyed, and they would receive twice as much good for the evil they had suffered. This promise is for us to possess as well, God has been telling us that He is restoring us from the inside out and 2019 is the year of establishment.

The Lord made a covenant with the people of Israel, and He wanted them to know He would not let them down or forget about them.  The Lord called His people: prisoners of hope. The Lord wanted them to know that He could be counted on, even if they were struggling, even if life was not perfect, even if they had suffered a while, they could place their hope in God.

As children of God let’s be prisoners of HOPE! When we place our hope in God, we can rest in believing and expecting for Him to act on our behalf. We can have hope in God!

Let’s pray:

Thank you Jesus, we receive double for our troubles! Thank you for your word, for your faithfulness and your attention to us. I pray you strengthen our hearts to keep our integrity at all times. I pray we would be great stewards of your blessings and restoration, and never take your goodness or favors for granted. In Jesus name, Amen.

Hold on to HOPE!

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes. The Lord’s people have always been a waiting people.

Charles Spurgeon.

Hope is more than making a wish! Hebrews 11:1 says that in order to have faith we must have certainty and a hope of something. If we do not have hope, then we cannot have faith!

Hope is to desire and expect something to happen. Hope gives us stability as believers. God has given us promises and we wait in expectation, but what happens when we have waited on God, and nothing seems to ‘manifest’? The bible says that when hope is deferred (postponed, delayed) it makes the heart sick, but having hope brings joy (Prov. 13:12, 10:28).

The enemy of our souls works to make and keep people hopeless, but greater is HE (Jesus) who is inside of us than he (Satan) who is in the world (1John 4:4). His greatest success is to discourage us to the point of despair. And despair is the opposite of hope: its the loss of absence of it. It grows from recurring disappointments and discouragements in life. When we lose hope, we lose love, passion, faith and desire for things, including life itself. As the enemy of our souls, Satan aims to kill, steal and destroy our love, hope and faith (John 10:10, 1 Cor. 13:13).

The antidote of despair and depression is to hope, Psalm 42:11 says, Why are you cast down, O my soul? Don’t be discouraged. Expect God to act!

Let’s pray:

Thank you Lord Jesus, for renewing our hope. Thank you for making your word true in our lives, for giving us joy and peace as we place our expectations back to you, I pray that hope overflows in us by the power of your holy spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer: For God to bring His salvation

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. John 1:1

Jesus Christ is the Word of God, who was made flesh for our sake.

Thank you Lord Jesus for another day. Thank you for being the ever present God; the one who is with us through each and every situation. Thank you for opening our eyes to see and experience your all knowing and all powerful being. Today I pray for all the people who want to know you but do not believe they are ‘good enough’, or able to ‘submit to your rules or regulations”. I ask you give them supernatural strength to move forward and towards you. I pray they can stand firm in the faith they have, and in their hunger and thirst for the Truth, for a higher being or for a spiritual experience.

Thank you for being our balm of Gilead Jesus, for healing our hearts and changing our minds. I pray you protect the minds and hearts of those who don’t know you yet. Protect them from spirits of confusion, insanity and delusion. I ask you to open the eyes of their understanding, so that they may come close to you. Your word says that you come close to those who come close to you, so I pray that this is their experience. I pray your angels would be dispatched and they would minister to those who are to be saved!

Thank you for being our mighty deliverer, the God who fights for us, saving us and freeing us from all things. I ask you Lord to have mercy on us all. I ask you Holy Spirit to visit those who are struggling with faith, those who have been feeding their curiosity with the different truths given by the world and those who willfully resist and oppose you. I ask you to open each persons mind and heart to move past hearsay and knowledge. May each person take a leap of faith to seek you. I ask you to soften their hearts so that they may perceive and receive you, and I also ask you to convict them of their wrongs and need of you God.

I also stand in the gap for those who have resisted you, those who are thinking about you and have fears of going to church or committing themselves to you, I pray you meet them where they are. I stand in the gap for those who have been introduced to different belief systems; but have a desire to find out if YOU are real and are afraid to take a step of faith: may you be the fire in their bones to do so. Your word says that whoever believes will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. I pray that Your will to save us all is fulfilled.

And finally, I also pray for those who have drifted away from the truth. I ask you Lord Jesus to awaken their spirit, and put a will and desire for you again. May you visit each individual Jesus. We may not be able to reach all people, but you can reach them Lord. Nothing is impossible for you Lord.

May they receive life through your son Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thursday word: The Throne of Grace

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14

Question for God every morning:
What is the main event today?
What do you want me to focus on today?

John C. Maxwell

There is a throne room waiting for us to come into. There is a secret place, the Lord waits to meet us in.

The Lord wants us to be in constant communication with Him, He doesn’t want us to be afraid of Him or to hide from Him. He is ready to extend His grace towards us. Even if we are struggling with sin, confusion, torment or any form of darkness. We can trust the Lord is always ready and willing to deliver and strengthen us.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and that means He doesn’t want His children in any form of darkness.

God is faithful to keep all of His saints from blame, from falling away and from being snatched away by Satan.

The Lord gives us a chance each morning we awake to change our story: to repent and get right with Him. He may rebuke, correct and discipline us but He will not forsake us. The Lord searches our hearts and He knows the intentions of our hearts, even if you feel far from God- or have done things that displease Him- He is still your God. By His grace, we are able to have a fresh new start with Him with each day that passes!

Don’t let the enemy deceive you! He will do anything to keep you apart from God, and living the life He intends you to have!

Let’s pray:

Thank you Lord God for your redemption and forgiveness. I pray you speak to each heart, may they find their way back to you. May they taste and see that you are good. May they experience your unceasing love. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Friday Word (8/2)

Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish. Isaiah 46: 10

The will of God will never lead you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

God cares about us; not only does He care – He also has a plan. And He actually has every detail to His plans and outcomes. The thing about us, is that we don’t always look for His plan, instead we easily do whatever we want to do.

We choose where to live, where we work and what type of work we do: we choose our schools, and what to study: we choose our friends, and intimate partners: we have free will, it’s true but God also has a will. God cares about who and what we invest our souls into. Ephesians 1:11 says that we’ve been predestined according to the purpose of HIM, who works all things according to the counsel of His will. God is a God of order: it’s up to us to be submitted to Him so that we can see those predestined moments (appointed times) of God. He has works for us to do, He has a set time and a set place for us.

The faithfulness of God is His sovereignty. It is based on the sincerity and the genuinety of our salvation, which causes all things to work together for our good. If we decide to not go His route, He will sovereignly cause things to happen to lead us back to where he wants us to be. But what if we could avoid the setbacks, the back and forth, some of the pain, the confusion, and all the in between?

It’s our choice to get into a relationship, to move into a different city, to leave a church or to stay in a church or even to backslide. What does God have planned for me? Where does He wants me to be? Who does He want me to friends with?

Nothing is too hard for God, He can lead you to the places He wants you to be and He knows how to speak to YOU so that you can listen.

May we be bold with our prayers for directions!

Let’s pray:

Thank you Lord God, for bringing us to knowing you, and even more important that you have called us to know you. I pray for each person reading, and ask you to open their eyes and ears to sense your direction, to perceive the new things you are doing and to hear your voice louder than any other voice. In Jesus name, Amen. See the source image

Devotional 7/24

So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten talents, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ Like 19:13

You have seeds of greatness inside you.

The Lord Jesus told the people a parable about a king giving 3 of his servants 10 talents to work with. Ten talents is equal to 750 lbs, so what the king loaned them was of great value. The king expected the servants to invest the money so he could earn interest.

If we take into consideration the gifts, skills and talents God has deposited in us: we can very well say that He is expecting a return from us. Maybe you are not a great writer, but a great painter, a comedian, a musician or even an electrician. God expects us to use these enablements to reap a harvest for His kingdom. Jesus is coming back soon, and will expect a return on His investment.

  • His investment is what He placed inside of you!

We use what He invested in us, to bring His name glory. When we use what God gave us, we open doors for God to enter their lives: we are ministers to others. Ministering to others can be done through anything we do. We can sing, for example and sing songs which tell the gospel. We can write and teach to others about Christ. We can speak and encourage others with the hope of God. We can make jokes and comfort, create art and display Gods variety and creativity, cook meals to make others feel welcomed, as God welcomes us: we can do so many things in the name of Jesus.

If we do nothing with what God has loaned us, we will give account to God. If we sit with our gifts, abilities and talents, He will ask us… why did you not earn any interest with what I loaned you?

The lord God has deposited valuable things in you, go out there and use them for the kingdom of God!

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for this word. Thank you for reminding us that this life is not our own. And that today is only borrowed time, and you will soon return and ask us what did you do with what I gave you? I pray each person reading this, is moved to share their gifts and talents to expand your kingdom. May we all reap 100 fold of all that you have placed inside of us. May we be your good and faithful servants. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
