But when the Spirit of Truth comes He will guide you into all the Truth, He will not speak on His own accord, but only what He hears and He will tell you what is to come. John 16:13

I don’t believe in accidents, but I do believe in divine appointments.

Thank you Lord for divine appointments and partnerships.

I pray you help us recognize the purpose of each person in our lives. May we gracefully exit relationships which drain us or which serve no purpose Jesus. I pray you give us grace when speaking, give us the right words to communicate whether in negotiations, confrontation and those conversations on the job. I pray that our lights would shine so bright, that negativity could not come near us.

Thank you for leading ya through the doors you have specifically for us. I pray for those waiting for open doors to be encouraged, hopeful and in right standing with you despite it all.

I also pray for those who need to make decisions, may you endow them with wisdom, strategy and grace to do so. May you bless our finances, and break all curses in our lives concerning money. And may we be great stewards of all that you place in our hands. Thank you Lord God.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Guard against turning back from the grace of God. Let no one become like a bitter plant that grows up and causes many troubles with its poison. Hebrews 12:15

Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it. Bitterness paralyzes life; love empowers it. Bitterness sours life; love sweetens it. Bitterness sickens life; love heals it. Bitterness blinds life; love anoints its eyes.

Harry Emerson Fosdick

Our enemies are spiritual ones, they influence and seduce us with thoughts, words and a thousand other things! One of the things that attack many of us and goes unnoticed is our perspective, which is in direct relationship with our emotions. I have seen many, even myself, become bitter in or by what seems to be the Christian walk. Things are not always what they seem, and this makes people sick.

It’s a lie of the enemy to make us feel like outcasts, like the only person going though a hard time. It’s an even bigger lie of Satan that you are a victim: looking for pity and babying yourself, or looking for others to baby you. If unaddressed these lies become bitterness, which contaminate us. The side effects of bitterness are unsatisfied, discontent, critical and/or complaining spirits.

Bitterness is more than a feeling of disappointment, unforgiveness or resentment: it is a poison which harms others. Historically, the Israelites who complained about their journey through the wilderness ended up complaining against Moses. These people were destroyed by the destroyer (1 Cor. 10:10).

Although our respective walks may be challenging, there are things we must learn on our own. There are certain things God must allow so that we can experience who He really is: like Job. We must know Him personally, and not settle with knowing Him according to what we have heard or what we have been taught. And we must guard our hearts, from any spirit of offense.

Discouragement and weariness may visit us for a season, but we must avoid bitterness from growing roots in our lives. Let your faith grow deep roots of love.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for bringing this teaching to us today. Thank you for unmasking the devil’s schemes which may keep up from entering the Promised Land which you have for us. I ask you to uproots all seeds of bitterness, or even roots, big or small, which are trying or may be implanted in our hearts. I ask you Lord to teach us to fill the empty places which your love as you clean us from the inside out, in Jesus name. Amen.

And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Luke 10:18

Satan is a fallen foe and has always been subject to the authority of the Son of God.

Image result for God does not have restrictions, yet as a father He sets boundaries.

God gave us desires, and He also looks to provide for them. Satan was kicked out of heaven, when he started speaking to the angels about taking over God’s throne. God kicked Satan, and 1/3 of angels hosts from heaven. That’s a lot of fallen angels. Don’t let Satan talk to you, and make you wonder and wander yourself away from God’s ways. God gave us a sound mind, a powerful mind of self control, and of creativity. The enemy knows how powerful our minds can be, if correctly used. And now, more recently research studies both in science and esoteric, have found our that the mind is extremely powerful. Have you acknowledged that your mind is powerful? Whether it is for good or for evil is really up to us, and how much self control we use. We can make decisions which appeal to please God or to please our own selfish desires. God does not have restrictions over us and our happiness, but He, as a father, sets boundaries for us in love. Holy Spirit leads us to make wise and godly decisions, but our flesh leads us to make self centered and self pleasing decisions.

Yesterday I mentioned that an idle (a wandering) mind, opens doors for the enemy.  For example, Eve, she fell for eating from the forbidden tree because it seemed okay to eat it, it was nice to look at and it would make her wiser. And the voice of the serpent was making her wonder about what God had already said. She let herself go into trouble, and away from God by her own desires. As human beings we have needs, and we also have desires: lets be honest. And then there’s Satan. We need food, but we desire tasty food. This is why there are fruits and vegetables all over the world, spices and seeds and animals of all kinds for us to enjoy. Yet there will be people, who will eat human flesh, and drink human blood. We enjoy beauty, yet this can easily become vanity or materialism. And if we value beauty, we are able to see the beauty in nature, find beauty in humanity and in art. Yet people become greedy and vain, becoming materialistic and coming into possession with anything and everything they consider beautiful. And we are also given wisdom, and seek wisdom; yet people do not go to God for wisdom.   I once heard a preacher say, God gave us our sexual drive- but He also wants us to manage it. And I think this is true, about EVERYTHING. The truth is that God’s Holy Spirit, teaches us to manage our fleshly appetites, and keep them under control and in balance. But since we are not prone to ask God for help, Satan corrupts our healthy and natural desires. For example, can a man and a woman procreate children? Yes. Can two men or two women make children by having sex? Nope. This is an example of God’s gifts and desires, being perverted by Satan. Another example, is gluttony. Do we not love food? Satan binds people’s minds to become gluttons. The devil LOVES IT when people make themselves slaves to a desire that God created and intended be enjoyed!

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, I know that you are a God of order and of wisdom. I pray you give us all, desires that benefit us spiritually. Desires like reading your word, fasting, desires to forgive, desires to be sanctified and to spend time with you in prayer. I pray we many live a life of obedience and of balance with a heart focused on love. Please show us, areas of our lives where we may be allowing Satan to enter by our lack of balance and discipline. Examine our hearts, and help us to refocus on our callings and ministries, beginning with our families. Give us wisdom and discernment, against anything that could steal our time and attention, let us not be idle! Protect us from curiosity, and things which may cause us to wander away from you. Thank you for your presence and for the victory in every area of our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Devotional 11/2

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call on Him [for salvation] while He is near. Let the wicked leave (behind) his way; And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LordAnd He will have compassion (mercy) on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:6-8

Do you think like God thinks?

Salvation is near, and God can still be found. Please consider, there will be a day when He is not going to be around. People will look for God and not be able to find Him. It sounds so scary, I don’t want to be around for that time; and I hope none of my loved are either. Other than that truth, I want to share something I received while I read these scriptures, which I had never thoroughly thought of before. First, I saw distinctions between the wicked and the unrighteous.

  • the wicked have ways (actions, behavior, reactions, habits)
  • the unrighteous have thoughts (ideas, imaginations)

Secondly, I noticed that Isaiah made a distinction between ‘our Lord’ and ‘our God’. Isaiah stated that the Lord will have mercy on the repented sinner, and God will forgive them. The third thing I noticed is that God has righteous thoughts. I make this inference because in the scriptures context, God is comparing himself to the wicked and the unrighteous. If the unrighteous have wrong thoughts, and need to change; then God has much higher thoughts: righteous thoughts. Image result for god calls things as though they are

In Latin the word righteous, broken down in Latin means : correct and manner. So God wants us to think in the correct way. What is the correct way to think? We can conclude this by knowing God personally, we know that God is love, He is light, He is holy and He is Just. The bible also says that we are to keep our minds focused on certain things like: things which are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report and on things of virtue, or worthy of praise and honor.

So, basically if we dwell on things opposite of these; we need to change our thoughts (repent). If we are being unholy, unloving, unjust or unfair, even in the secret places of our minds- God wants us to know today; to turn around. He will forgive us for all of our sinful behavior and thoughts but we first need to clean up our act, given that we admit to our own truth.

The scripture also says, My thoughts are not as yours: God’s thoughts are much better than ours. When we see sinners, God sees souls to be saved. When we see the homeless, God sees homeowners and suppliers. When we see worldly people, God sees holy people. When we see prostitutes, God sees evangelists. When we see drug pushers and drug addicts, God sees business investors and pastors. And even when we condemn the murderers, God sees the potential in them to be apostles, just like Saint Paul. All it takes is a decision to change (repent). God’s thoughts are higher than ours, while we think thoughts which fall short of God’s awesome splendor and glory- He thinks good, wonderful and perfect thoughts towards us.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, may we continue to grow in you and develop your vision for this world and its people. I pray for your joy to abound in us, even when we see negative situations. I pray for strength when we are weak. And riches, for the poor. I ask you Lord, to clean our minds of worthless thoughts, thoughts that may open doors to sin in our lives and those thoughts that may give the enemy power into our lives. I pray for salvation for people who have not yet noticed that you God are available, and I pray for those who keep pushing you aside- may they know that one day you will no longer be accessible. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 10/17

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. Matthew 6:14

The weak can never forgive.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

We have to make decisions. Some are easy and not profitable, others that we consider hard, are so beneficial to our life overall. Without realizing it we affect our present and futures, all from things which have occurred in the past. The hard choices in life are the more promising. The more fulfilling. The more satisfying. Because God is watching the choices we make, and so are the people around us. I thank God for showing me the power in letting go. I had so many things I did not consider grudges, but simply offenses, disappointments and disagreements, and these needed to be forgiven as well. We have to choose well for our emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

You may say, I do not hold grudges- but you hold someone who hurt, offended or disappointed you guilty of doing so! That my friend, is a grudge. Forgiveness means you do not keep a record of their wrongs. A grudge is keeping that person in a guilty place. So if forgiveness means to not keep score of their wrongs, then those people you consider GUILTY- need to be released, they need to be forgiven. A grudge is not being angry, or being evil to someone else. For instance, other examples of holding a grudge are:

  • “You can forgive but you can’t forget.”
  • “I’ve tried to forgive them, but they haven’t changed.”
  • “I may have forgiven them, but I’ll always hold it against them.”

Image result for forgiveness quotesI teach from experience right, I cannot give you, what I myself do not have. So when I speak about forgiveness, believe me I have been offended in ways you would not imagine. I noticed I had not released people from these things I experiences… Get ready, I know from personal experience that these are hard!:

  • when you think of someone who hurt you, how do you feel?
  • When you see their photo or name, what’s your first thought or reaction?
  • Have you ever prayed or blessed the people who have hurt you? Have you ever given them money or gifts that would assist them in anyway?
  • When you think about these people, can you think of the good in them? Can you state a moment when you were thankful for them or grateful for having known them at all?
  • Do you ever think of hurting them back?
  • Do you ever wish bad on them?

It is easy to put a smile on your face and pretend everything is okay. It is hard to deal with things, or to overcome obstacles, and hurdles.

It’s easy to never love again or to trust again because you are afraid. It’s hard to live a life loving people, and receiving love from people who can hurt you at any given point.

It is so easy to be angry and stay angry. It’s hard to change your mind when you are hurt, angry or sad.

It is so easy to be hurt and to say forget so and so. It’s hard to choose to forgive someone and move on.

It’s easy to fight. It’s hard to be meek; to contain yourself from giving people what they deserve.

It’s easy to defend yourself for the lies, the hate and the lack of appreciation. It’s hard to trust God to take vengeance on those people.

It’s easy to hide your heart in attempt to protect it. It’s hard to take your heart and wear it on your sleeves.

It’s easy to be angry at God for allowing the nonsense and not dealing with people right at the moment. It’s hard to stay quiet when you want to tell people how wrong and ignorant they are.

It’s so easy to hold a grudge in your heart for others. It’s hard to accept a sorry you never got; to accept that some relationships have to end, for reasons outside of your control or understanding.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for the liberation and healing in my own life. I pray for those people who will read this today, and those who are battling with being done wrong. people who have gone through crazy things, even like sexual molestation, homicide or domestic abuse, neglect or abandonment- grievous things Lord where forgiveness is the last thing on their hearts. I pray that you would visit these people Lord, the way you visited me. Give them the grace to release, and to empty their hearts from any and all negative emotions associated with undergoing offense at the hands of others. I also pray for those people who need to forgive themselves too. I pray you give them new strengths each day to conquer their own self image and esteem issues. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Devotional 2/3

But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Job 2:10

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

– William Arthur Ward

For those of you who do not know the story of Job; Job was a man of integrity before God. he was a prosperous man, who cared to be right with God so much that he even offered sacrifice for his kids in case they had offended God in some way. Satan goes to god, during a meeting and says I’ve been running all over the earth looking for who to devour. And God actually brings up Job, “have you considered my servant Job?“. Satan tells God, I cant even touch Him you have him all cuddled up, happy and rich, I bet if you let me at him he will not be so faithful.

God takes away the hedge of protection he had around Job, and tell s the devil- do anything you want but you cannot kill him. The enemy ends up taking Jobs kids, his riches and his health. And Job undergoes quite the trial. His wife who was alongside the entire time, sees his suffering and says just curse God and die! In other words, whats the point, just give up on God; He is doing you an justice anyhow.

Image result for keep going quotes

Of all people, his wife should have sympathized with his suffering not give him such froward advice. This is a perfect example of what someone without conviction, and without reverence for God, would say. Job calls his wife foolish. And brings up a good point, how can we accept the good things from God and not accept also the bad things. Sometimes the best thing for us to do when someone is going through a hard time, is to stay quiet. We should offer support and comfort, not cause anger or bitterness. We should definitely avoid jumping to conclusions, or coming up with reasons as to why the individual may be going through a hard time.

Jobs friends actually argued with him, and were convinced that all the negativity occurred because of some secret sin Job had committed. They couldn’t be more wrong!

We don’t have all the answers, but we serve a God who does.

When we read through the entire book of job, one thing is for certain God allowed these things to happen to Job. God knew that Job would be faithful til the end. And God gave him more than he lost in the first place. I have noticed that God usually restores us to a better place than where we had left off. God asks Job: Where were you when I created the heavens and earth? Where were you when I decided the ocean to stop by sands? Who counseled me when I placed the stars in their place, and the galaxies in the atmosphere?

This must have been a humbling experience for Job,. He may not have been guilty of any known sins, but I’m sure he reconsidered his take on sin after God stated His case. Sometimes we need to humble ourselves, and recognize that God is God. We are not God. And if we must go through this and that it must be for a valuable purpose. Even though we may wonder “why me?”, or “how much longer?” We don’t have all the answers, but we serve a God who does.

God is a God of purpose, and we must stand on that.

The bible says all things work together for Good, for those who love God and are called by and for His purpose, this means that life has a happy ending. Life is hard for everyone, it has ups and downs, uncertainties, broken promises and hopes deferred but with Jesus there is a hope of everlasting life. There is a hope for a time where there would be no more suffering, no more death, sorrow: no more tears. If you are anything like me, your heart believes this but your mind says I don’t want to wait for everlasting life- I want a happy ending now. The truth of the matter is, we must train our minds to see the good in life and make the best of it. Life truly is what we make it, I get this reminder every time I find myself at the verge of depression. Sometimes accepting life, is a quiet space: no emotion, just stillness. And this is how we can move forward, and find the many purposes which life will soon unfold. Yes, there is a reason for every season.

Let’s pray:

My savior and my God, I thank you for this hope which you have placed in our hearts. Which many are oblivious to. I simply come before you to ask you for the grace to endure and your mercy to reach us at our lowest in our lack. I pray you would hide our hearts in you, and give us the necessary strength to move forward in you, towards your purpose in calling us. May we received new revelation, of your love. May we received a deeper conviction, that you are for us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 2/1

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them. Deuteronomy 30:19-20

God blesses and God curses. God calls and God rejects. Are we making the right decisions?

In my entire walk with God I have always been dubious about God’s calling and election. I have always asked my self, “why me?”, “why did I receive Gods call, many people are called but they reject the call… Why wasn’t I one of those people?” This question is not for us to answer, because the mysteries belong to God. He chooses to have mercy on whomever, and He also draws our hearts to Himself.

The mysteries belong to God.

The bible says that many are called but few chosen, and others scriptures say come and buy salvation; while the gospel itself says repent and turn from your ways, leaving the choice up to us. I have always been drawn to a higher being as many I know are as well. In my youth I was introduced to Jehovah Witness, Catholism and spiritualism. I received the word of God from the Jehovah witness, which I am eternally grateful and I received faith from the Catholic Church. I was into white/black magic, tarot card reading, baths and astrology from an early age. I knew there was a God somewhere but I was not convinced that He was accessible.

In my heart I admired the Islamic devotion, and I was inquisitive about astrology (not horoscopes); but throughout my research I was not ever convicted about any being the truth. When I received Gods first call at 15, I began a long journey which has brought me to these long 16 years. I was more afraid of God than I was in love with Him! I was also intimidated by God. From my childhood development to being introduced to Jehovah Witness doctrine, I believed God was a dictator. A dictator that created us, and threw us into the world to fend for ourselves. I was not aware of satan, hell or God’s Holy Spirit. I was in search for the point of being on earth, and having been created. I knew that I had a purpose but I had no idea where it was, or how to find it. This is how astrology helped me to “know” myself. I was able to start a journey of studying myself, and others through the position of the planets and the stars. I was a Cancer/Leo, with the moon and Mars in Capricorn, Venus in Virgo and mercury in Leo. Even though there can be significant truths found in these studies, the bible says that when we received Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit we become new creations, therefore we begin another journey of self discovery.

Jesus is very clear about our flesh having to be dead in order to follow him.

Our soul, and our old nature will resist God’s holiness. We do not know this until we begin to walk with God, and we do not receive the complete transformation either. I don’t care how different someone is when they come to the Lord, they still have a human nature that needs to be subjected to a holy nature. This is where resting In God, comes into play. We must trust that God’s word is true! God’s word says that God’s nature is in us- his Holy Spirit is changing us into His image daily.
That is the easier part of this walk, when God does the work and we let Him. There are things in our past we will never do, because God changed us. But there other things we have which we have to give to God, in order to move forward in Him. And as I said before most of these things, we are not even aware of until it is time to do so. This is where surrender comes in, we have to be able to love and trust God enough to let go.

Success is achieved by developing our strengths, not by eliminating our weaknesses. Marilyn Vos Savant

Resting in God: Trust and believe God’s word

Surrender: Let Go, Let God be God

Choose: Put away, Be who God called you to be

These are no easy tasks, especially when life doesn’t stop to give us a break or for us to make sense of anything. When your eyes are on one thing, and God wants your eyes on Him. When your feelings are in healing process, and your mind is fighting to be established. Things may be impossible with man, But all things are possible with God.

In order to choose life, we simply need to meditate on the scriptures and live them. To chose death is to turn our back to God, by choosing our ways and the ways of the world.

Let’s pray:

Father God, searcher of our hearts, may you be the cent of our affections. Help us in our walks to adhere to voice and take heed to your commands. May your love for us, be stronger than our love for everything outside of you. Help us to overcome condemnation, guilt and fear. May your joy restore us and may our hearts be established until you return. May we walk, like you are coming right now, with our eyes focused on your call and the goal of sharing eternity with you. In Jesus name, Amen.
