Prayer: receive what God has for you!

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9a

What you believe you want, may be different from what you deserve.

Thank you father God for today, for your presence in our lives and for your everlasting love. Today I pray according to Isaiah 61. I declare that the Spirit of Lord is upon each of us. We’ve been anointed to bring good news to the poor, to comfort the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to those who have been bond. We declare freedom, he who the Son sets free is free indeed! May we be solutions for people!

May we be the ones who to announce that the time has come for the Lord to show his kindness and His judgment against the wicked. May we be the ones who comfort those who are sad, and who are mourning. We receive your promise to take away the shame of our lives, and give us a crown instead of those ashes on our head. Thank you Jesus, for taking away our sadness, and giving us the oil of gladness! Thank you God!

Thank you for taking away our sorrow, and giving us new clothes to wear! Thank you for showing us favor, and crowning us with beauty! Thank you for giving us new songs, a new praise and taking away hopelessness. Thank you for raising us up as trees of righteousness, we are plantings of the Lord, so that You are glorified. And all the things which have been destroyed in our lives, you promise to rebuild. You promise to restore, thank you Lord in advance.

You said you will revive our lives and our homes, thank you Jesus. May doors be opened and hearts touch to serve us. May those that do not know us bless us, and show us favor! We are called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God! You said that we will feed on the wealth of the nations and boast in their riches, and instead of shame and dishonor, we reap a harvest of a double share of honor. May we possess a double portion of prosperity in our lands, and revel in your everlasting joy.

You said you will reward us for our suffering and you will be faithful to keep your covenant for us. May we be recognized and honored as blessed for being your people everywhere we go. Thank you Jesus for giving us salvation, for adorning us with the clothes of salvation and precious jewels.

Show your justice to the nations of the world God! May your faithful ones spring up like plants everywhere! In Jesus name, Amen.

But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10

It is a glorious thing to know that your Father God makes no mistakes in directing or permitting that which crosses the path of your life. It is our glory to trust Him, no matter what.

Joni Eareckson Tada

The book of Job is infamous for us: it tells us about the mystery of God which we may not understand on this side of heaven. He allowed Satan to attack Job, as a way of testing Job’s faith and trust in God. Job declared, God knows my heart, He knows my end and my beginning; when I am tested I will come forth as gold. Gold is tested by fire: it is purified.

It’s safe to say that we don’t desire to be accountable to anybody. It is wise to seek the counsel of others (Prov. 11:14), but more importantly to seek God for direction. God knows the end from the beginning, He sees what is around the corner, or a few months away, while we can only imagine what could be. Jon’s friends judged him for losing his crops, his health and his children. They did not understand that God was purifying Job’s character. In ways only He can understand God changes us from the inside out.

The Lord knows us: He created us. And the things He allows are for our benefit. God is not absent to your struggles or tears, He is with you through it all. He is only purifying you through each process. He may want to show you a new facet of His nature. He may want to make you stronger in love, reverence or stewardship (amongst many other things). Or He May simply want to humble you from arrogance, hate, blame, etc.

The Lord God considers your steps. He knows the way you will take. He sees you. God is with you and He knows what you are going through. Remember this process has an expiration date! Will you choose to trust Him?

Let’s pray:

Father God, I thank you for reminding us that you are with us even through the struggles and the loss. Thank you for pruning us, refining us and even remolding is to who you desire us to be. Thank you for making us vessels of honor. I pray for each person going through a hard time: may you visit them and show them that you are present with them even in their pain. I pray for strength and hope in Jesus name, Amen.

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:2-3

Where you go, I’ll go. What you say, I’ll say.

Kim Walker

What is God looking for? He is looking for people ho He can trust and depend on.

God doesn’t’t need us, but He desires to use us. He is not like human beings, who drink a carton of juice and toss it when he’s done: God is not a slave master, we are collaborators with Christ.

We are amazing masterpieces: instruments in the hands of the Creator, the All powerful God. From human perspective, it’s easy to judge ourselves and deem ourselves unable, unqualified or limited. Real self-esteem is acknowledging your greatness and capacity. It is appreciating yourself for what you are. God wants to remind us today, that with Him ALL things are possible. Forget about YOU, and collaborate with God! You and God together can and will do amazing things!

Catapult:

  • hurl or launch (something) in a specified direction with or as if with a machine or mechanical force;
  • Propel, shoot, send flying, send, fling;
  • move suddenly or at great speed as though hurled by a catapult.

God knows our capacity, He knows our caliber. He qualifies us in private, to display us in public. He prepares us in secret, and places us in strategic places. He wants to use you… yes you! He wants to use your voice, your influence your intellect, creativity, temperament, gifts and talents.

Will you take a chance with God? He has approved you; He has tried your faith and found you- fireproof! Brace yourself because God is about to catapult you!

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for this word. I pray it falls into fertile ground, and yields a harvest of 30, 60 or 100 fold. We welcome you to use us to expand your kingdom, to set the captives free and save souls. In the name of Jesus I pray! Amen.

Devotional 6/22

But those who wait on the Lord will become strong again. They will be like eagles that grow new feathers. They will run and not get weak. They will walk and not get tired. Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭

In our waiting, God is working.

God doesn’t work the way we work, His ways are much higher than our ways. Being hidden by God means that you are valuable to Him: valuable enough to be prepared in secret.

Value:

  • worth a great deal of money.
  • A thing considered extremely useful or important.
  • A thing that is priceless, cherished, profitable
  • A thing that is of great worth, especially a small item of personal property.

Have you ever heard the phrase, good things take time? God anointed David to be king when he was a teenager, but did not appoint him as king until he was in his 30’s. David was alone in the wilderness with some sheep, while his older brothers served the king in the army. He could have went ahead of God and made himself king, or took it upon himself to prove to people that he would be the next king… but he continued to take care of his fathers sheep in secret. David learned how to walk with God in secret, he learned to listen and serve God in obscurity. In 1st Samuel 17 David says, I used to fight lions and bears to keep my sheep safe: God prepared him to be a fighter and a leader in his shepherding days. When God was ready, He promoted David to be the greatest of Israel’s kings.

During his waiting seasons He was not mad at God, he didn’t feel insecure, he didn’t doubt God… David showed God he could be faithful. Are you showing God that you are faithful in whatever season you are in today?

Let’s pray:

Thank you Jesus for today. Thank you for the lessons, preparation and promotions. Thank you for stretching our capacity. I pray we would see ourselves as you do. May you open our eyes to see your goodness in every season, in obscurity, in those times we feel forgotten, or those dark seasons of life where we feel tired, lost or confused. Help each of your children to guard their hearts and keep a good attitude. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 5/27

To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike]. Matthew 5:45

Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Suffering brings us to the end of ourselves. It exposes and confronts our fickle ways, or in better words, areas where we could use more work in. Suffering is inevitable for all human beings, the word says that the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike.

The bible promises us trouble! The word clearly says we will suffer! We will be persecuted for following Christ. We suffer when others accuse us, offend us or ridicule our faith. We suffer when we deny ourselves to obey God’s word. And we suffer when our plans are blown to the wind when they don’t fit Gods agenda. The difference between us and unbelievers, is that God is with us through it all. When we can’t control or understand situations, the Spirit of God gives an inexplicable peace, which surpasses understanding.

God is with us through the ups and downs of it all. He is for us, and not against us. The Lord is faithful to us no matter what, not because of who we are or what we deserve, but because of who He is! God is in control, declare that your God is greater than any situation you may be facing!

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for your tender mercies and faithfulness. Thank you telling us the truth, despite of what false teaching may have us believe. We give you glory, and praise for being the true and living God. Our ever present rock. I pray you help all those suffering, may they see their situations in a different positive way. May they see your goodness through it all. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 5/19

Do all things without grumbling or questioning; Philippians 2:14

Until our attitude can glorify God, while we are going through a hard time we will not be delivered.

Joyce Meyer

What do you do when your life does not reflect the promises of God over your life? Remember God’s plans for us, are to prosper us and give us a hope and a future: God is for us, not against us. God has a plan and He is working on something behind the scenes! When we pray, He hears us!

I know what it’s like to wait on God, and wonder if it’s worth it, and what it’s like to believe God’s word despite your feelings. I know what it’s like to walk by faith, while reality screams in your face- calling you a fool. I know what it’s like to worship, praise, read the word, congregate and serve God: and still be in a funk. I also know what it’s like to fail God, be desperate, feel hopeless and seek refuge in places other than God. I know what it’s like to wonder if you are paying for some sort of disobedience. I know what it is to wonder if God is even listening to my prayers or does God still love me?

God has not forgotten you. It is up to us to renew our minds, and to declare what we believe. David said, I believed and therefore I spoke.

  • If you are grumpy, then do some self reflecting and search what things you’ve been believing.
  • If you are hopeless, what have you been thinking about?

I wish I could have a better response to life, but this is it. You and the Spirit of God are a majority: He’s our teacher, our counselor and the one working in us.

  • Grab a book and study it.
  • Look for scriptures according to your need/circumstance and meditate on them.
  • Join a bible study group or START a bible study group!

We have full access to God! We can boldly approach the throne of God and find help in our time of need. He will give us grace, comfort, strategy, favor, wisdom, direction, and much more.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, mighty counselor! Thank you lord for renewed hope. Thank you for restoring our hearts. May God’s grace strengthen. You as you renew your mind, and shift your perspectives. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 5/4

Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word]; Hebrews‬ ‭10:23‬ ‬‬

I always grew up hearing my mother say “You don’t tell God no.”

Sheryl Brady

The bible says that the race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong (Eccl. 9:11): God’s race is not a straight line, it’s full of twists and turns! He tells us to run the race with patience. We need patience to get to the finish line.

Patience:

  • The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset;
  • Forbearance, tolerance, resignation, endurance, sufferance.

In our path of transformation in Christ: God will test our patience! There are different times and seasons where our patience will be tested and re-tested. In order to reach Christ likeness, our patience has to improve and progress. Patience is more than being able to wait: it’s about waiting without losing hope and faith. Having hope makes us able to expect and be enthusiastic (a characteristic of joy).

In our humanity, we can depend on our own strength, but it will only leave us feeling frustrated and tired. Eventually, relying on our own will power, will lead us to hopelessness when we see that things do not turn out according to our timetable. But glory be to God that the Spirit of God lives inside of us and He gives us power to be patient. If we ask Him, His power works in us, and He will increase our patience.

The power of His might is able to do exceeding abundantly, more than we can ask or think of (Eph. 3:20)! We need God’s grace to wait! We need God’s grace to walk in humility! We need grace to forgive people who are not sorry!

Some of you are worn out from the battles and the unmet expectations. But God has a plan, and a purpose. He knows what He is doing and by His grace, He’s going to reveal a new level of His glory to you! I believe it! Do you?

Let’s pray:

Father God, most high and all knowing God; you know all things lord. You know our rising and our going to bed. I present our spiritual strength to you. I ask you to give us all a fresh dose of hope, faith and love. You are He, who works in us and has power to do what no man can. Help those who are tired, or hopeless to understand that it’s you calling them to get to know a different side of you Lord. I pray for your vigor and renewal, in Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 4/28

But you are his chosen people, the King’s priests. You are a holy nation, people who belong to God. He chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He brought you out of the darkness of sin into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

I AM who God says I am.

What is your identity in Christ? Who are u? What in Christ, or in the word of God do identify with? Are you seated in heavenly places with Christ or do you belong to this world? Are you filled with Holy Ghost power?

The Bible says a lot about our identity. We can easily identify with the world, for instance: I’m a Hispanic New Yorker, and I am a single wealthy female. But what does God say? As you read the word, there should be identity markers which jump out at you: yes! This is me! The Bible says we are children of God, overcomes in Christ, friends of God and much more. It also calls each and every single one of us, worshippers and intercessors.

1 John 4:4 says, the spirit of God lives in us, and HE is greater than he who is in the world. Therefore, I identity myself as being a spirit filled believer who overcomes all my spiritual enemies which are sent from Satan! If we know who we are by where we are from, how we look and the things we do- Satan can convince us that we are not good enough, that we are powerless and that we are hell bound. Knowing our identity is warfare! The word of God tells us who we are by faith in Christ, but tests prove our identity. We can memorize and confess scripture: but it must be tried. Our identity is like the word of God; it becomes real when we walk in its revelation. Do you believe God about who you are? Do you believe people, the world, your circumstances, Satan?

  • You are the righteousness of God, because Jesus Christ died to make you right with God!
  • You are a child of God, a friend of God and His servant.
  • You are an overcomer, because your faith has overcome this world!

Let’s pray:

Thank you lord for giving us your perfect design. Today I ask you to develop and prune our identity according to your purpose. May we be who you say we are, and may we do what you say we can do! I pray this simple prayer in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Devotional 3/29

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Sometimes the worst place you can be, is in your own head.

Nobody is born with an identity: identity is something that evolves over time. Identity is in what we associate ourselves with and how we understand and perceive things. Identity is vitally important because it can either make us  act accordingly, or act incorrectly.

Children see things in an egocentric way, and everything leaves a mark on them.

  • For instance, newborns depend on their parents and when the perception of their parents is disappointed or shattered: children internalize the events. This child then, being unable to process complex information experiences trauma.

Trauma is any experience which negatively impacts someone outside of their control: car accident, witness of crime, betrayal, disappointment, heartbreak, etc.

Children and adults who experience trauma, usually live in a pattern of some sort.

  • As a general example, someone who has been violated through verbal, sexual or domestic abuse, could identify with unworthiness: unworthy of being loved, good fortune or happiness. They usually accept any type of love, suffer anxiety, settle for less, allow others to abuse them and/or abuse themselves. The way to overcome trauma is to open our hearts before God, confront our issues and develop resiliency.

Resilient:

  •  capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation or rupture
  • tending to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change

When we are affirmed, we can use positive impacts and encounters to re-identify ourselves. We can change our stories and become resilient. Satan’s power is his way of seducing us into believing his lies. Our identity is in Christ. We are seated in the heavens, right next to Jesus, and that same Jesus gave us the power to tread over snakes and scorpions, and nothing shall by any means hurt us. We are more than our feeling, more than our desires, and more than our history. We are stronger than outside forces and circumstances. We have the power to change our lives!

Fight against the lie that says you will not make it! Fight the lie that says you are not good enough! Fight the lie that says you are helpless!

Remember David, you are David. He fought Goliath, because He knew God was with Him and He believed in himself! He sinned against God, and had to live with the turmoil which sin brings, that was hard. His first son died, that was hard. The man he served wanted to kill him for no reason, that was hard! And his own son wanted to dethrone him, and be king of Israel.. that was hard! But God was with David, he encouraged himself and he kept his foot in front of the other.

God is with you and He chose you, because He believes you are enough! You are able to deal with ALL things!

Let’s pray:

Lord God Almighty, thank you for your love, your might and power. Thank you for making hope the anchor of our souls. Thank you that we are able to do all things through you, because you make us strong! I love you Lord. Today I ask you for those who are battling with depression, anxiety, heartbreak, bitterness, disappointment, rejection, suicidal thoughts and all negative darts of the enemy. Send your fire Lord and consume all the inconsistencies in our minds and hearts. I plead the blood of Jesus over us and our families in Jesus name. Amen.
