Prayer: receive what God has for you!

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9a

What you believe you want, may be different from what you deserve.

Thank you father God for today, for your presence in our lives and for your everlasting love. Today I pray according to Isaiah 61. I declare that the Spirit of Lord is upon each of us. We’ve been anointed to bring good news to the poor, to comfort the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to those who have been bond. We declare freedom, he who the Son sets free is free indeed! May we be solutions for people!

May we be the ones who to announce that the time has come for the Lord to show his kindness and His judgment against the wicked. May we be the ones who comfort those who are sad, and who are mourning. We receive your promise to take away the shame of our lives, and give us a crown instead of those ashes on our head. Thank you Jesus, for taking away our sadness, and giving us the oil of gladness! Thank you God!

Thank you for taking away our sorrow, and giving us new clothes to wear! Thank you for showing us favor, and crowning us with beauty! Thank you for giving us new songs, a new praise and taking away hopelessness. Thank you for raising us up as trees of righteousness, we are plantings of the Lord, so that You are glorified. And all the things which have been destroyed in our lives, you promise to rebuild. You promise to restore, thank you Lord in advance.

You said you will revive our lives and our homes, thank you Jesus. May doors be opened and hearts touch to serve us. May those that do not know us bless us, and show us favor! We are called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God! You said that we will feed on the wealth of the nations and boast in their riches, and instead of shame and dishonor, we reap a harvest of a double share of honor. May we possess a double portion of prosperity in our lands, and revel in your everlasting joy.

You said you will reward us for our suffering and you will be faithful to keep your covenant for us. May we be recognized and honored as blessed for being your people everywhere we go. Thank you Jesus for giving us salvation, for adorning us with the clothes of salvation and precious jewels.

Show your justice to the nations of the world God! May your faithful ones spring up like plants everywhere! In Jesus name, Amen.

In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Psalm 33:21

To make the will of God supreme on earth as it is in heaven is to be allied with God in the affairs of life. James Talmage

Father God we love you. Thank you for being our refuge, our place of safety. Thank you meeting with us in the secret place.

Thank you for being our helper, and our mighty deliverer. Thank you for your loving kindness and tender mercies, which are new every single day. Thank you for giving us more than we could deserve, and from sparing from us that which would destroy us.

Today I pray for increase of all that we have. May we all receive greater convictions of your presence with us, and of your love. May we bask in your love. I pray you help us rejoice at all times, and see us walk into all that you have predestined for us.

I pray you set our faces as flint, during the hard times and teach us to keep a new song and a new praise on our lips. I ask you Lord for wisdom, courage and discernment to walk worthy of your calling. May you hide us in the cleft if The Rock. May we honor and acknowledge your presence with us at all times. You are our security, you are all that we need. You said you are “I am”, so I pray you meet us all where we are and supply that which we need.

You are our strength and our shield; our hearts trusts in You, we know you are our help. I pray we can remember to encourage ourselves when we are down, and express our gratitude even before the blessings come. Like Jabez said, bless us Lord but allow us not to become corrupt.

May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you. Salvation comes in your name, demons flee in your name, and the sick are healed in your name! All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to you, it’s in the name Jesus that I pray, Amen.

Devotional 6/29

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:2-3

Where you go, I’ll go. What you say, I’ll say.

Kim Walker

What is God looking for? He is looking for people ho He can trust and depend on.

God doesn’t’t need us, but He desires to use us. He is not like human beings, who drink a carton of juice and toss it when he’s done: God is not a slave master, we are collaborators with Christ.

We are amazing masterpieces: instruments in the hands of the Creator, the All powerful God. From human perspective, it’s easy to judge ourselves and deem ourselves unable, unqualified or limited. Real self-esteem is acknowledging your greatness and capacity. It is appreciating yourself for what you are. God wants to remind us today, that with Him ALL things are possible. Forget about YOU, and collaborate with God! You and God together can and will do amazing things!

Catapult:

  • hurl or launch (something) in a specified direction with or as if with a machine or mechanical force;
  • Propel, shoot, send flying, send, fling;
  • move suddenly or at great speed as though hurled by a catapult.

God knows our capacity, He knows our caliber. He qualifies us in private, to display us in public. He prepares us in secret, and places us in strategic places. He wants to use you… yes you! He wants to use your voice, your influence your intellect, creativity, temperament, gifts and talents.

Will you take a chance with God? He has approved you; He has tried your faith and found you- fireproof! Brace yourself because God is about to catapult you!

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for this word. I pray it falls into fertile ground, and yields a harvest of 30, 60 or 100 fold. We welcome you to use us to expand your kingdom, to set the captives free and save souls. In the name of Jesus I pray! Amen.

Devotional 6/15

But when the Spirit of Truth comes He will guide you into all the Truth, He will not speak on His own accord, but only what He hears and He will tell you what is to come. John 16:13

I don’t believe in accidents, but I do believe in divine appointments.

Thank you Lord for divine appointments and partnerships.

I pray you help us recognize the purpose of each person in our lives. May we gracefully exit relationships which drain us or which serve no purpose Jesus. I pray you give us grace when speaking, give us the right words to communicate whether in negotiations, confrontation and those conversations on the job. I pray that our lights would shine so bright, that negativity could not come near us.

Thank you for leading ya through the doors you have specifically for us. I pray for those waiting for open doors to be encouraged, hopeful and in right standing with you despite it all.

I also pray for those who need to make decisions, may you endow them with wisdom, strategy and grace to do so. May you bless our finances, and break all curses in our lives concerning money. And may we be great stewards of all that you place in our hands. Thank you Lord God.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 6/12

Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. Proverbs 4:25-27

Quit worrying about what you are supposed to do, and focus on who God says you are.

Do you spend as much time with God, as you do on people?

You spend hours texting, video chatting, hanging out and even arguing with friends and family. You spend time liking your peoples pictures, reading captions, messages and statuses. You listen to people’s advice, preachings, and respond/ meditate on people’s messages and comments…

You can spend time with God, in prayer, in sharing with people’s testimonies about God, and going to church. You can get to know God by reading and meditating on the bible. All we need in life is faith. In order to do successfully live by faith, we need a relationship with God. He who comes to God, must come believing He is God and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him (Hebrews 11).

A life in God is more than doing or performing for God, or keeping a checklist of good deeds. God knows you fall short from His glory, He knows sin dwells in your flesh, He knows that you are still under construction. Grace is what God did for us and His finished work. He will let you know whatever is not good for you, and He will help you make the necessary changes!

Let’s pray:

Lord I pray you put expectancy in our hearts. May we be in pursuit of our destiny moments and divine appointments for your glory and praise. May you manifest yourself, may all that we do be intentional. May we be deliberate in our time with you, in our time of study, of worship and prayer. May we entertain what we are supposed to entertain, may we go where we are supposed to go. May we say what we intend to say, and do what we intend to do Jesus. We give you glory and praise for stirring up our gifts in purpose in you: thank you for release. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 5/1

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

How much can you know about yourself, if you’ve never been in a fight?

The Fight Club

In order to effectively help others, it is necessary that our character is pruned, our faith tested and our beliefs challenged. We often think that nothing is happening, and that we are suffering for no reason: but God is doing something inside of us.

All human beings tend to struggle with patience, and the desire to take control of their lives, so God has to allow us to suffer so we can learn. The word says that although Jesus was the Son, he learned obedience from what he suffered (Heb. 5:8). Challenging times can be used to get to know a different side of God and to find and cast down limiting beliefs in your life. The word says that when we go through hardships, we develop honorable traits like patience, persistence and hope.

The word says that the world will know us by our fruit. The fruit of God, is our likeness to God: faith, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). In order to reach specific people around us, God wants to demonstrate His character through us. For instance, we cannot engage in illegal activity with our co-workers or school colleagues, but with love, kindness and gentleness- we can build a relationship with them and win them to Christ.  The apostle Paul said, that He wants to bear the sufferings of Christ, not just the blessings of knowing God. When we welcome Christ into our hearts, we very vaguely imagine that we’ve enrolled into a life of persecution and suffering. Sometimes we say things like, ‘there’s a purpose behind your suffering’, or ‘this trial has an expiration date’… and although these are both true: we continue despite of! God knows our past, our future and our future. He knows what we are thinking, and how we are feeling even before we speak or acknowledge these. He is faithful to use all things for our good.

Suffering is one of those topics which we question and trip over. We simply do not have the answers. If God suffered, then it’s a given we will all inevitably suffer. And if He obtained the victory in His suffering, we can too!

One day soon we will see that the things we suffered through were simply the process and the preparation for what He has already set in motion for us to do. We will remember them as memories, as waters that have gone by.

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for your love and your presence. Thank you for doing life with us, and giving us the desire to live and continue to seek your face. I pray for my brothers and sisters who are suffering because they need to repent and even those who need to surrender and rely on you. I pray you help us Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotional 4/20

He saved us because of his mercy, not because of any good things we did. He saved us through the washing that made us new people. He saved us by making us new through the Holy Spirit. Titus‬ ‭3:5‬

If we function according to our ability alone, we get the glory; if we function according to the power of the Spirit within us, God gets the glory. He wants to reveal Himself to a watching world.

Henry Blackaby

Holy God, awesome, great and dreadful God; thank you for your grace and everlasting love. We would be lost without you. Thank you for being patient with us, and giving us your power and strength. We don’t deserve your goodness, yet you continue to shed your love on us.

Today we acknowledge that it is you, your Spirit within us causing us to do your will and that which pleases you. We ask for your consuming fire to detoxify and destroy any demonic strongholds in our minds and hearts. I pray your Holy Ghost fire would incinerate the things in the crevices of our souls which are not like you. We ask you Jesus, to renew a right spirit within us and give us the correct perspective for this season.

I also ask that you help each of us, to look more like you, to speak like you and to walk like you. I know we are missing the mark as the body of Christ, so I’m asking that you start with us. I pray you help us to bring a revival in our own lives, and rekindle a desire to seek you and love on you, more than to serve you.

May we gladly boast in the goodness of your love. May your Spirit find rest in our beings. I ask you for all these favors, in the matchless and incomparable name of Jesus. Amen.

Devotional 3/31

Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” John‬ ‭20:13

When the flesh is dealt with, the kingdom of God comes in and the church is built up.

The Lord had told them in various occasions that the Son of Man would suffer many things, but that He would resurrect. We serve the God of the resurrection.

Angels: Angels still speak to people today, and they work on the earth on our behalf. Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected on the third day. Martha went and found an empty tomb, but angels greeted her, and their words comforted her. We are not to glorify angels, because they are ministering spirits created by God (Heb. 1:14). They rolled the stone away of Jesus’ tomb granting Him a way out. And in other biblical stories they also helped Lot and his family escape from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and opened doors for the apostles to escape prisons.

Crucifixion: Some things in our lives have to die so that they can be resurrected. The Lord Jesus prayed 3 times for God to pass the bitter cup from Him, it was then that Jesus surrendered and said let your will be done Father and not mine. Our life is a reflection of God’s will. He wants us to be alone for a season so that we may surrender to His will. Jesus had 12 disciples, one betrayed Him, another denied Him and the rest scattered: they all left Jesus alone. They couldn’t even pray for Him during His darkest season! And it was God’s doing: not everybody can be with you when it’s time for your flesh to die. The disciples wouldn’t know how to pray anyhow, and would actually pray against God’s will, and seek to preserve Jesus life. Like many of our friends, would pray for God to have mercy on us, pity us or comfort us- meanwhile God wants us alone.

Resurrection: The disciples saw Jesus be beaten, spit on, imprisoned and killed!Their expectations were shattered, their hope for a king to redeem and restore their land and people was gone. Martha speculated saying, they have taken the Lord’s body to another place. And the disciples did not realize that Jesus had told them what would happen beforehand, and that they were living witnesses in that very moment. In the same way, the people around you will also speculate about your come up. They may even question you as you walk in resurrection power. They may be confused because they saw you fall, they saw you cry, they heard the rumors about you, but God has risen you to walk in resurrection power, with influence and great impact.

  • Recognize that it’s God’s doing!
  • God knows what He is doing!
  • God desires you to surrender to His will: kill your fleshly ways!
  • God will bring you back to life!
  • God will confound the people around you!

Let’s pray:

Father God, Lord Jesus, thank you for your word. Thank you for teaching and instructing us as we grow in you. Thank you. We give you praise, glory and honor. I pray today for each of my brothers and sisters who may be going through the surrender battle. May you strengthen us, give us understanding and deeper convictions of your will and our areas which need to be surrendered. Give us the strength to move forward, and to desire your will above our own feelings. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Devotional 3/22

Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel. Proverbs 24:6

There is nothing wrong in learning from someone else’s life.

Christianity teaches us that we have the victory in Christ, but our reality tells us different. When we make mistakes, we feel like complete failures, when attacked our weaknesses are magnified and when the going gets hot, quitting seems like a definite option.

The Lord places believers in community (aka church) so that we can help one another. We can seek counsel, and receive it. We are able to learn strategies and receive revelation from random conversations. We can learn from others and avoid a lot of suffering, it’s wisdom at its best. I am transparent about my failures and shortcomings so that people can learn how they can fail yet get back up. In all honesty, it’s best to learn the hard things from other people’s experience rather than your own.

The church is a body, we all matter! We are affected by one another. When people play significant roles in the church, and leave- it’s like an amputation: when someone is bitter, it’s a deep infection: when someone is angry, the body feel high blood pressure. Although our flesh resists, critiques and rebels, the Lord has given us a new family. A family with spiritual fathers and mother, sons and daughters and siblings. Church is not for the faint hearted. There is no perfect church, because are no perfect humans! But don’t we eat the banana and thrown away the peel?

God places us in a community of believers, to grow, to learn, to commune, to be encouraged, and to develop. The Lord is well aware that we will absorb from whatever and whoever we are around. We read books, listen to music, watch movies and performances, and it’s all good because it’s self expression. But if we can watch celebrities live their best live on social media, why is it an issue to listen to other believers who have overcome hurdles to live the true best life?

God is good and He knows what He is doing. Live according to His standards, you will be blessed!

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank you for my church family and thank you for the work you have done in my heart that I can say this. You are God, and you do as you will. I pray that your children will be planted in the House of The Lord, and not forsake congregating as you’ve commanded in your word. May they gracefully absorb and guard their hearts as they relate to a new community. And may they have strength to move forward. In Jesus name. Amen.
